“Stylish, great food”
Review of Drifters

Drifters
Certificate of Excellence
Description: A family run restaurant and bar, a stones throw from the lovely East Wittering beach. Great cocktails, beers and wines. Interesting menu with something for everyone from Brisket chilli to local Cod loin from the fishmongers. Outdoor seating for alfresco dining. Cosy in the winter, airy and cool in the summer. Live music.

Have visited a couple of times and at different times of the day. Lovely atmosphere. Especially on a sunny evening. Interesting menu with great veggie choices.

We visited today for breakfast. We were greeted by a young lad with dreadlocks who was very friendly but didn’t seem to have a handle on what was going on.
We were told there would be a half hour wait for food as there was an issue with one of the fryers. It was quite busy but there were empty tables and we didn’t expect much of our breakfast to be deep fried.
The menu looks amazing and has lots of different breakfast options on it so we felt quite smug that we’d stumbled upon this place after wandering on the beach.
We ordered drinks and were told our food order would be taken “in a bit” when the kitchen were ready for it.
The coffees came out in dribs and drabs but were tasty and eventually we all had a drink.
When we ordered our food the waitress seemed a bit flustered, probably because she seemed to be one of the few staff actually doing anything.
The food that came was tasty but it came out in stages and one of our party’s breakfast never arrived. (There were only 5 of us.) Nobody came to check that our food was ok. By the time we decided to ask about it, 2 people had finished so we just asked for it to be taken off the bill instead. One breakfast was also missing bacon but it was so over cooked on other breakfasts that we didn’t ask for any.
Nice looking place but poor staff, slow kitchen and overpriced for what you get. Go to Billy’s in Bracklesham instead but you’ll need to book.

Plenty of space inside for a late weekday lunch now the heat and crowds have gone (end of August). Friendly young staff, but not pushy. Great menu with plenty of choice for veggies and some for vegans. Tofu wrap, sweet potato fries and haloumi fries all delicious. Would certainly go back.

Nice restaurant with large outside area to sit in (which can't be reserved apparently). Always busy, and you will definitely need to book if you want the weekend evenings. We sat near the door and was amazed at the number of people turned away. Food interesting and staff couldn't be more helpful. We will be back (but will need to book!).

We went tonight for dinner and it was delicious. Really lovely chilli beef nachos and very generous children’s portions. One of my children was a little disappointed with the menu as she really only like chicken and there was no plain chicken available so she just had chips. Obviously, my 2 round boys started playing up whilst waiting for food, one wanted a bottle, the waitress brought over hot water to warm his bottle really quickly and he was happy once he got his milk. And my toddler was tired and after trying distracting him and colouring and neither working I resorted to paw patrol on my phone but data doesn’t work here and it seems it’s probably the same for everyone as the WiFi works intermittently I assume because so many people are connected to it. But overall lovely food and nice restaurant with clean bathrooms.
