Not happy guests. This is not luxurious, it is not central, it is not cozy. So we rent this ‘villa’ really a room with a bathroom for 1000€ for a week to have people constantly walking through, no privacy, no security. A guy with and/or without company walks through at anytime. The father shows up to water his garden! Unbelievable! No kitchen with water. No parking, you can’t open the street access but be
0.1 meter from cars wizzing past. A kilometre out of town with no walkway. 15-20€ to get home by taxis! Internet but told to not use it very much! Why don’t they tell the truth and put this on the web? Tell everyone it’s a public walkway inside the villa? People arriving at any time we have to stammer and wonder just who is here?!?! Why a key? Is this a flop house? A public market? This is not what we paid for, not what is advertised, definely not ‘private’ . Shame on them with false advertisement .... Rip off. Run away. As if VRBO isn’t scary enough!
Villa Rosinella is a great place to stay when visiting the Amalfi Coast. The apartment is very clean and stocked with enough items to cook your own meals if that is what you wish to do. Giuseppe and Gianfranco are excellent hosts. They greeted us at the door when we arrived and insisted on carrying our luggage to the apartment. Parking is at a premium in Amalfi but Giuseppe let us borrow his resident pass and we were able to park on the street right near the apartment. Also inside the apartment besides comfortable accommodations were two bottles of wine, several snacks, prosecco in the fridge, several bottles of water, and a host of other comfort items. He asked if there was anything else we wanted and my wife said she would love to get some mozzarella di buffalo. That is usually a local item in southern Italy. Two days later we found several balls of the mozzarella hanging on our door to the villa. You can walk to the central area from there but I suggest you take a bus or cab back as it is all uphill going back. There is also a nice restaurant just down the street. We ate there twice during our stay. They have homemade pasta and great seafood. What more can I say. If you go to Amalfi and want a great place to stay at a reasonable price with an outstanding view, then; try Villa Rosinella. When leaving I thanked Giuseppe for everything and his reply was: "No, No, I thank you.
