Description: Our historic Delicatessen was founded in Salerno by the Conte family in 1919. We specialise in the highest-quality, local and regional delicacies, with particular emphasis on Slow-Food and Organic products. We have a wide range of local wines from small-scale producers, which offer excellent value for money, as well as some of our favourite regional and national wines. Our range changes each month and according to the seasons. We sell local pickles and preserves, as well as vegetables, locally produced honey and artisan conserves. Our mozzarella is delivered to us fresh every day and is among the best on the market. We also sell Baccala - fillets of dried Icelandic cod and a true Italian delicacy. This is available for you to prepare at home, or ready cooked from our deli counter. You can also try our full range of cheeses and meats in our special tasting room, with its vintage 1950s Berkel slicing machine. Your choice of delicacies from our counter can be paired with a glass of wine or one of our local artisan beers, all of which we'd be delighted to advise you on, and all of our wines are available by the glass. In order to offer the level of service we pride ourselves on, we welcome bookings. We aren't organised like a traditional restaurant - it's up to you what you choose from the deli - and of course we're always happy to advise on particular products. Wine or beer can be chosen from our display - the price is the same whether you take it away with you or drink it on the premises

We just came out of our visit of the Salerno Cathedral and Duomo and thought it was a perfect time to break for lunch. We were strolling along and stumbled upon la Botteghelle65 . We noticed it was a Sulmeria / deli and browsed at the various prepared foods, local dishes, charcuterie and cheeses. We decided to give a try, frittata with pasta, cheese & lemon, mixed salad, pizza di Casa, Baccala a la Napolitana (cod) and charcuterie board of local cheeses and cold cuts. Our host Pino took the time to explain the local organic olive oil, the source and various tastes we were about to experience and wow what wonderful meal and plethora of great tastes! Everything was simply divine! Bring more of a beer person I was delighted to try a local craft beer, the Farmhouse ale from Fenix ; absolutely great beer! Pino and his staff were fantastic hosts and we felt we had the best, gourmet lunch in Amalfi. Grazie Pino!

I heve been living in Salerno for few years and now I live abroad. i was in Salerno few hours in june and of course I went to Pino to say him hi. Pino is the perfect owner of this perfect place. I found out that he placed some tables and chairs outside as well, so you can even enjoy more the cosy and relaxed atmosphere of a beautiful city like Salerno, the part of the old town, closeby the DUOMO. I was on my own, Pino makes you go inside and choose the fresh food he has - with the fresh ingredients - and he always explains what you are gonna eat, to make you have an unique experience. I opted for some not fried aubergines parmigiana - omg, it was delicious - he brought me some green and fresh olive oil and some fresh bread and then hemade me try something new and unique - he even went on tv to explain this new dish A FRITTATA - OMELETTE - MADE WITH AMALFI COAST LEMONS, EGGS AND PASTA....the taste was something so special that i' ll never forget. He explained that he wanted to create something special with poor and traditional ingredients, so he thought about pasta, eggs, lemons....he advised me some white wine as well to go with it. It was a slice of frittata but it was enough to taste all the beauties we have in Campania. Pino is an expert about wines, cheeses, mozzarella, oils, bread,...literally everything, and he can be a perfect teacher to bring you in a special food path. You just need to go in BOTTEGHELLE 65 and ask him to guide you. When you go inside, you can choose a full dish home made of course - it depends what is available that day - parmigiana, pasta, rice, fish - and you can combine with something "alone" like mozzarella, cheeses, tomino, prosciutto, mortadella, olives ...you have a huge choice. Grazie Pino for the unique experiences that you always give me. See you soon. Maria.

If you can visit this place, make shure you have lots of space in your belly. The stuff is very kind and they will recommend some of their local foods. When we visited, some random italian guy gave his recommendation too. At the end we drank a bottle of local wine and had a blast eating all the goods. If you can, try everthing.

Stayed 4 days in Salerno and spent 2 evenings eating here, simply because the food was great so we decided to return. The owner is very hospitable and passionate about the food he serves. There's no such thing as a menu, something you might not be used to but you can choose from many (local) delicacies including delicious cheeses and meats. If we ever come back to Salerno we will definitely return.

Popped here on the strength of previous Trip Advisor reviews and so glad we did as it became a highlight of our holiday in the region. Local food served with a passion that only can be done in Italy! Great selection, the aubergine was exceptional and the selection of cheeses, meats and accoutrements is not to be missed. Used our google translate to get across our thanks and were rewarded with a complimentary cherry liqueur, lovely lunch!
