We have recently returned from a wonderful week at the Grand Hotel Flora. The staff were all friendly, welcoming and helpful from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, particularly the bar and restaurant staff who were all brilliant.
Our room was huge and spotlessly clean with the most beautiful Italian floor tiles throughout. We had chosen to pay a small amount more for a sea view and would absolutely recommend this - the views and sunsets over Vesuvius from this side of the hotel are just stunning.
Food was lovely and plentiful, lots of choice and good quality.
Pool area is large and peaceful, again spotlessly clean and never felt overcrowded.
Hotel is in a fantastic location just a short walk from the main square, train station and ports.
We would absolutely recommend this hotel and would love to return one day.

A family run hotel combining warm hospitality with friendly service. Good location for everything in Sorrento. Rooms are nicely appointed, clean, cool and comfortable. Restaurant serves great food with style and speed.

Room Tip: Try and get a room facing the pool and the Bay.

12 of my wedding guests stayed here and this is a collective review.
Positives:
The Staff - They are so hard working, polite and friendly. Rosemary, Edmundo and Michelle went above and beyond for our group.
The hotel is clean inside and out, the pool is large. Food was of a good quality including breakfast and evening meals and the service was also very good with a view of Vesuvius.
Gala night was enjoyed by all the group (On a Wednesday)
Negatives:
The decking at the back of the pool area caused many of the guests to get splinters - This needs attention.
The pool closes at 6pm, too early considering the nice weather. Despite the pool being empty, they would not allow our 7 year old to use an inflatable.
Drinks etc cannot be paid for in cash but rather added to the room bill - This caused a lot of confusion at the end for guests sharing a room.
Air conditioning could not be controlled from the room, but rather you had to call reception to turn on and off ??? Also very noisy.
Location isn't the best - 15 minutes walk to the centre although flat.
No entertainment - was rather boring.
Rooms at front of hotel have a view of a petrol station.

Although there seems a lot of negatives - It's definitely a hotel to consider and generally of good value for Half Board.

Room Tip: Pool view should give you a view of Vesuvius if high enough.

We stayed in the Grand Flora Hotel for two nights last week.

The first thing that needs to be highlighted is the staff. They are very friendly, professional and really makes you feel home. The staff at the restaurant are really amazing. The hotel has a weekly dinner for the guest with the dinner plan. They made a party dinner, with nice music and sort of a show to make sure everyone enjoys the occasion. One of the staff, Giuseppe, was really friendly and make sure everyone felt welcomed.

The rooms are standard, clean and nice. We had a view over the pool and the city. The view from the dinning room in the upper floor is just breathtaking (Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples). We also saw a very beautiful sunset over the Bay of Naples during our dinner. The reception and lobby have beautiful lamps distinctive of the Grand Flora hotel. Good place to have a drink after dinner.

The breakfast and dinner are great. Breakfast has plenty of options and the dinner is a fixed menu. Food quality and freshness was really good.

The hotel is located within a walking distance to the city center or the Piazza Tasso and the commercial area. If you go to this area, definitely try to eat at the O’ Parruchiano La Favorita. Good food and a very nice terrace with a garden that felt like an oasis during lunch hour. It is located closed to the Sorrento’s Cathedral.

Second visit to Flora in Sorrento, great base for sight seeing, 10 minutes walk from centre. Nice room, basic but clean, second time with second floor front view despite requesting pool view. Not as noisy as you would expect and great to people watch, crazy drivers. Great staff, on reception, bar and dining room, all work exceptionally hard. Lovely pool, well maintained, food generally good but not keen on powdered scrambled eggs. Will definitely recommend this hotel and will return again

Room Tip: Front room, not as noisy as you would expect, don’t be put off, the traffic did not disturb us
