Wow! Where do you start?
We arrived for our honeymoon and the welcome at the hotel was excellent. We had lunch in the idyllic rooftop restaurant where we first witnessed the amazing backdrop!
The food was amazing and matched by the excellent service we received
We then checked into the room which was clean and comfortable with a view that we stared at not believing where we were!!
The views across the bay to Vesuvius were mind blowing and absolutely unforgettable.
Breakfast the first morning was served to our room, first day of our honeymoon, why not!
Breakfast in general was excellent and again the service was great and views amazing
Second night we had a meal in the restaurant and the food was fantastic
The manger, Dario, was wonderful with a manner and charisma that would grace any restaurant in the world!
He was annoyed with us at the end of the meal for not telling him we were on honeymoon!!
One minor criticism from me would be the lack of vegetarian options but the risotto was beautiful!
Middle day of our week after a lot of walking at Pompei was all day by the pool just relaxing, looked after once more by the staff in magnificent sunshine, such a wonderful setting to relax
Last night we enjoyed one last trip to the restaurant and remembered by Dario, he immediately gave us a glass of ‘fizz’ for being on honeymoon and his service was second to none all night ending with a complimentary limoncello to round off the night.
All in all wonderfully interesting hotel with great staff especially the restaurant mangers, steeped in history with great views if the opportunity arises we would love to return, maybe a future anniversary, who knows?
But thanks to all for making our honeymoon so memorable and being so helpful and kind, from front desk to rooftop restaurant...
...thank you (especially Dario!)

This monastery-turned-hotel was beautiful. Views from the top floor pool and restaurant were amazing. The pool was small, but there's no need for it to be bigger. The doors to the rooms were heavy wood which gave it the monastery feel, which I really liked! Breakfast was served every morning. Delicious and fresh pastries, yogurt, toasts and jellies were provided. The breakfast restaurant turned into a dinner restaurant which was also very good.

The hotel is situated on a hilltop in Naples. It's completely out of the fray and noise of Naples. TV's are very small with very limited English channels. Rooms seemed basic. Rooftop restaurant has amazing views of Naples and the bay. Service at the restaurant was average. I will try a different hotel if I return to Naples.

Room tip: Hotel is not in the city center. Noisy A/C unit, Limited English TV channels.

Dear Alma,

Greetings from the Hotel San Francesco al Monte.

Thank you for your review here on Trip Advisor.

You talk about a very limited selection on English Channels. At the moment, we have 8 English Channels, like: CNN, CNBC, CCTV9, CCTV NEWS, BLOOMBERG, BBC WORLD and FRANCE 24 also in english (in every room there is a list with all the available channels).

In any case, we are glad that you have appreciated the amazing view the Hotel offers.

I wish you a good day

Kindest Regards

Chiara

This hotel is well situated and offers lovely views of the city and the meditaranian. Roof top pool is a massive plus.

We ate at the restaurant on our last night. Amazing service, and piano forte added a touch of class x

Staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly.

A truly beautiful and unique hotel. Each floor is different and each room has a different look.

Lovely hotel, staff were lovely, check in and out was efficient. We loved the pool area and the view is sublime. Late evening drinks outside is quite special with the view over the city and the bay of Naples.

Very romantic
