We ate here after reading tripadvisor reviews and happily discovered Tema was close to our hotel, UNA hotel.
We ordered from the tourist menu. What a mistake!
For starter we all should have received roasted veg antipasto, the only option on the menu, we all got brushetta, the staff realised their mistake from what I could decifer from their conversation in Italian but none of the staff acknowledged this mistake. An inoffensive plate of spaghetti in tomato sauce was next. One of our party ordered lasange, dish of the evening in my opinon, it had some flavour.
For main course what was described as 'beef' on the menu and recommended by the waitress, was infact veal floating a mush of sage butter or another dish ordered was veal in a horrid lemon sauce, no taste or smell from either, both equally terrible dishes!!
The dessert for the menu was a flan case filled with cream and berries, very lazy and uninspired!
The service could be summarised as 'take the order and bring the food', nothing else, we were not acknowledged otherwise.
The 'menu' was served with wine in a jug, also mediocre.
Maybe we should have avoided the tourist menu....but that's no excuse for serving tasteless, bland food!

We stayed at Hotel Raffaello during our visit to Rome and the concierge recommended Tema to us. It was about a 5 min walk. The food was great - fresh pasta and very tasty! The owners sent over 2 glasses of complimentary champagne. Their hospitality was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would highly recommend it everyone visiting this wonderful city.

Very good food - we had sea bass and lamb chops for our main course. Young waitress was polite and knowledgeable about both menu and wines. Restaurant has quite a modern atmosphere, ideal for an occasion. Very extensive wine list.

We went here because of the good Trip Advisor reviews and were very disappointed. My daughter's pasta carbonara was inedibly salty, my porcini risotto had no seasoning and was more like gruel, and my husband's shrimp were battered and deep-fried without being peeled (how to eat that!?) We didn't complain to the waiter but he acted as if we had personally wounded him by just picking at the food. He brought my daughter a (free) panna cotta dessert which tasted like it came from a can and was theatrically upset when we didn't eat that either. By far our worst meal in Italy, but hey, it has big portions.

We had "Spigola al forno con patate" bass cocked in owen with potatos and tiny tomatos. The fish was perfectly cooked and the combination with the potatoes and the tomateos was great. The place is though a bit pricy 55€ for two portions of fish (you pay the fish per 100g) and we had mixed grilled vegetables as a starter and I must say that it was way too expensive 11€ for a few slices of zucchini, aubergine and carrots.
Staff was very friendly. The place seems very turisty when you arrive around 19:30 - 20:00, but the Italians/Romans do go there too, just much later in the evening
