Owned by Mary Therese Burns and her husband Wolfango de Franceso they were waiting for us when we arrived at 11:30pm. Wolfango gave us a tour showing us the quirks that houses always have which set us up for the whole holiday whilst Mary did the paperwork.
The apartment is exactly what we imagine a typical apartment in Rome would be like with stunning views from the balconies and equipped with everything we needed for a perfect holiday.
Large bedroom with double bed, fully equipped kitchen, large bathroom with a combined shower/Jacuzzi bath, a sitting room with TV by the front door and a lounge with a second TV and 2 single beds. The floors are all marble/stone and there are some wonderful nautical features built into the decor.
The area around the apartment felt very safe and we walked around from 7am to 9pm with no issues.
There is a supermarket opposite that is very well stocked and we were a stone throws from Fassi’s the best ice cream parlour in Rome.
The apartment is 15-20min walk to the Colosseum but we also walked as far as the start of the Appian Way and back from the Vatican.
The metro was 5-10min away which we used a fair bit to get back after a busy day or when we needed to be somewhere early , buy a pass for the amount of time you are staying we had 7 day passes , big tip use first or last carriage to avoid pick pockets on metro.
If you use Termini station or want to walk back head for platform 27 exit as this brings you out well on the way back to the apartment and avoids all the touts outside
We would definitely recommend the apartment as somewhere to stay.
Well equipped spacious self catering apartment in central location with free wifi. Major attractions like Colosseum, Pantheon, Trevi fountain etc & termini station are nearby.
Supermarket is just across the road. We made our way around the city easily using public transport(bus/tram/train).
Hosts were very helpful and provided us valuable tips about public transport and nearby restaurants.
Mary also emailed us guide document before we arrived in Rome which was quite helpful.
We would definitely recommend this place.
We are a family of 5 (kids 11, 10 and 7). This place is ideal for a young family. Very easy to access from all transport, supermarket and the best gelato.
We will definitely stay here again!
Cannot go wrong!
Having read such positive reviews , I had high expectations and I wasn't dissapointed, from the first contact the lovely Mary Terese was friendly, helpful and made booking directly through her a pleasure, we also used the voyager shuttle service she recommended 52€ for 4 in a lovely clean vehicle with a driver waiting at the airport with a name plaque that then took us to the apartment, on arrival Mary and her lovely husband Wolfgang made us feel so welcome, with ice tea chilling and a guided tour of the apartment, making sure we were happy with how everything worked, the apartment is 5 floors up but the lift is very reliable, and although on a very busy street the noise level is minimal when the windows are shut , it has 2 large comfortable bedrooms, large bathroom with jacuzzi bath and shower, 2 small balconies, the kitchen is well equipped and the property has 2 tv,s and the free wifi worked perfectly , the apartment has most things you would need and more, it is close to tram line, 10-15 minute walk to collaseum , 5 minutes or so from the manzoni metro line, has a supermarket opposite and to top it off the biggest ice cream parlour which for 3 € you get 4 scoops and a huge cone or tub! Mary and her husband wanted the stay to be perfect for us and it certainly lived up to our expectations and more, we would love to return if ever visting Rome again
I read through many reviews before deciding to contact Mary, and surely, it was not disappointing. Mary is very professional and started to send us information regarding transportation, dining, what to do in Rome and so on, in short, many tips about Rome. The elevator in the apartment building reminded me of Audrey Hepburn's movie Charade. After a day exhausted excursion, my kids always tried to beat us by climbing up the stairs. It was a 15 minute stroll from the apartment to the Colosseum and its neighbor, the Forum, and about the same or less to Roma Termini, and San Giovanni in Laterano. I know everyone's taste bud is different. The gelateria, Fassi, across the street is honestly the best I felt in Roma. I definitely recommend Mary's apartment to other travelers.
All the amenities are here including laundry, bath, shower, 3 separate single beds or double & single bed in the 2nd room. The flat has been extremely well cared for. Everything was spotless. Owners are fantastic and very accommodating. Flat was a perfect temperature even during colder nights. Supermarket and ice cream shop across the street. A great stay in Rome.
We stayed at Minerva for a week and found it to be quite comfortable with 2 large bedrooms, one of which doubled as a living room. The kitchen had everything required including dishwasher. Having a lift in the building also saved us lugging suitcases upstairs. Access is easy with tram from Termini Station and buses and metro nearby. There is also a fresh food market nearby. Mary gave us a lot of advice on getting around and nearby attractions and places to eat and we enjoyed our time here.
