This resort provided a much needed break from the hot, crowded city after hours of sightseeing. The kids (ages 7 & 10) always looked forward to swimming in the beautiful pool during the late afternoon. Rome can be overwhelming, and the Cavalieri was our luxurious refuge from the mayhem. The service was top notch (English speaking) and the food was terrific. Insist on a city view room and you may never leave your balcony!
The one drawback was the 15-20 min cab ride into the city everyday- or take the complimentary hotel shuttle which drops you at Piazza Barberini every 30 min.

Room Tip: City view rm, or club level (club has views)

It's a great hotel with plenty of space and amenities, especially if you are given access to the Imperial Lounge. However, if you are looking for an intimate experience with your loved one, this is not the joint. It's a big hotel, and at some hours you feel like cattle riding up and down the elevators. The breakfast is a gorge fest, people running around like they've never seen food before in their lives. It's a good breakfast, nothing to rave about. Lots of people love it because of the endless supply, but I think the quality is less. If you don't get a chance to eat at La Pergola, definitely try the other restaurant (where they serve breakfast). The food was fresh, delicious, and lovely...but expensive (although a bargain compared to Pergola). The property is beautiful and the views are to die for...the shuttle was not our style, so we took a cab in and out of Rome. Bottom-line: great hotel, big rooms, all the hilton perks...Cons: big hotel, lots of people, not very intimate, feel like cattle in elevators. The St. Regis in Rome is better.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel from the 6th to 10th June. We had an Imperial Club room with a view overlooking Rome. The Imperial Club room allowed us access to the club lounge which served buffet breakfast together with snacks all day and alcoholic beverages in the evening. The Imperial club room also gave us access to the pools and Grand Spa. The service level at this hotel is extradordinay to say the least, bearing in mind that for the time we lodged here, there was a large EU-US conference, weddings, childrens poolside birthday parties and the service to us was no way compromised by some of these events. The location as other reviewers have noted is not in the centre of Rome, but lets face it, in the middle of Rome's summer heat it was a pleasure to go back to the hotel following our time downtown. The shuttle bus service will deliver you to Piazza Barbereni and from there most sights are within walking distance. We certainly enjoyed our time here and would have no hesitation staying here again, there really is nothing to fault about the Rome Cavalieri, it is 5 star all the way. We have stayed in many 5 star properties around the globe and we found the Rome Cavalieri to be exceptional. Please retain your standards and we look forward to returning sometime.

Room Tip: Book an Imperial Club room it's worth it.

My wife and I stayed 2 nights. We rented a car and had no trouble geeting to the hotel with our GPS. We had to pay 5 euro per night for parking. For those not renting a car and not wanting to pay for an expensive cab ride from the airport I recommend taking the Metro to Barberini stop and hop on the hotel shuttle which stops there on a regular basis.

The hotel property from the outside looked a bit dated but once you step inside that perception changes immediately. The reception staff was very friendly, professional and efficient. Our room was not ready when we arrived although it was about 1 hour after check-in time. The recptionist had us wait at the Colosseo lounge and we had to wait about 45 minutes. One issue I did notice is that the people at reception where not able to give me all the HIlton Honors Diamond benefits included in my stay. I had to ask several times and they had to get clarification from someone else at least once.

We where "lucky" to get upgraded to a city view room although since it was on the 3rd floor all the view we got was of some nice trees on the property. Nevertheless it was probably a better view than those rooms with a garden view. The room itself was large, funcitonal and very clean. There is also great soundproffing barriers near the front door and balcony.

As a Diamond member I got 2 - 24hr certificates for free Wi-Fi, although the reception was not good in the room. We also received free breafast on the -1 floor restaurant which was very lavish and had a large variety of food options. Again, the service was great.

Some last miscellaneus comments:
- no ironing in guest suites, I was told that if your are a Diamond you have to be escorted to an ironing room, or else pay for ironing service from the hotel.
- try the hotel spa/sauna/turkish bath, it was great, although I think you may have to pay if you are not a Diamond.
- shuttle was excellent, and drive was very corteous, although the last return was very early and did not give us a chance to have dinner in central Rome.
- lastly the Coloseo lounge was nice but I agree with other people that Diamond's shoudl have access to the imperial lounge.

Room Tip: Ask for high floor with city view
