We found this when walking towards the train station. We didn't get time yo visit inside but this building is very beautiful
Also just a couple of streets away is case dell'Architettura which is like a little Park. This is also very cute and worth a visit

Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore is well worth a visit. It is breathtaking inside and out. If you appreciate the work of Bernini, it is a must see. The queue to get in took around 15-20 minutes on the day we visited, which is not bad by Rome standards. Once inside, it is not crowded and you can take your time enjoying the beauty around you.

There are of course many historic and beautiful churches in Rome, but this is probably my favourite. The proportions seem very elegant, the guilded cielings are magnificent, the marble floors wonderful, but being a huge admirer of mosaics the large and beautiful mosaic decorations are the best.

While the outside of this basilica looks pleasing to the eye, once you step inside you’re transported to a golden den of beauty and holy splendor. The cavernous space has so much decoration and things to look at you don’t know where to start. A book I bought in Rome says the gold that adorns the Church was brought back by Christopher Columbus. This is a must see!
