Dreaming Rome Hostel is owned by two brothers who were incredibly kind and helpful. It is very cozy, comfortable, and clean. I traveled to Rome with 3 friends and we immediately felt at home here. Breakfast is served until 1pm and you can cook your own eggs! Both Fabio and Dominicano were sweet and incredibly helpful with directions and information on places to see in Rome. Oh, and we got a free bottle of champagne on arrival! Its a 17minute walk to the Colosseum, so not in the dead center of Rome but definitely close enough. There is also a bus that runs every 5-10minutes that will take you to the Colosseum, Pantheon, Piazza Navano, or Campo di Fiori. One of the best hostels we've been to in Europe!!

Helpful owners, clean and spacious rooms, good location and a lovely relaxed atmosphere.

We found the hostel with no problems thanks to the directions provided. Our welcome was incredibly friendly, we were shown all the amenities and our options for breakfast (which were plentiful!) and given a bottle of wine to say hello (we got another when Dominico had to change one of the lights in our room).

It was easy to get to from the Metro, and we still managed a full day of sightseeing on foot when all of the public transport in Rome was on strike!

Room Tip: The double room is large and comfortable.

This place can be a little hard to find and the cabbies have no clue where it's located, but the value is great and the owners are incredible. Our luggage was lost the entire 5 days we were there and the main owner, Fabio, (only 26 years old!) was on the phone with the airport at least 2 hours a day to help us find our bags. Similarly, the place is very clean and sweet. The hostel provides comfy beds and a great variety of free breakfast, including homemade pies for breakfast. They also help you with any advice you need for sightseeing Rome. We had a great experience and would recommend it to anyone.

I stayed here with a few friends at the end of April - start of May 2011 and we really enjoyed our stay. We LOVED Rome! Dreaming Rome Hostel was a cute little place seeming to be a converted apartment. We stayed in the dorm room with 6 beds and were fairly comfortable, I won't lie though the beds were doable but not the highest quality. There were two shared bathrooms one with a stand up shower and one with a tub and shower head which was broken part way through our stay along with one of the toilets. It wasn't the end of the world the tub was usable and the shower head too you just had to manually hold it up. The toilette had to be flushed by reaching your hand in the tank. Again not a huge deal but if you are a finicky traveller who like things just so this may not be your place.

The staff were terrific, they allowed us to check in early and leave our bags for an extra day while we waited out our train. They helped us locate things on our map once we arrived and gave us a map to use which they marked night buses, train stations and other sites on too. They sell a travellers pack deal with metro tickets, vatican passes etc... but we had already bought our 3 days travel tickets on the metro so we just went down to the Colosseum and paid for tickets there and found out where the Vatican tours would be the next day.

The staff are night owls so if you like your sleep earlier in the evening bring ear plugs, again not the biggest of deals for me as I sleep late. My suggestion is go in and chat with them they all have amazing stories to tell.

Overall I would recommend the 6 bed room to any young or care free traveller and the other more private rooms there to the more serious of travelers. All in all Dreaming Rome Hostel was a blast!

This hostel is in a large apartment in a building a few blocks from the Metro station. The apartment is cute with decorations painted in every room. When I went they only took cash since they didn't have their credit card machine yet but that may have changed by now.

There are 4 guest rooms (1-4 bed female dorm, 1-6 bed mixed dorm, 2-2 person rooms). The doors dont lock and the lockers aren't very big but I just locked my suitcase and put it under my bed. There are only 2 bathrooms but they are always clean (there is just a wait to use them sometimes).

The staff is very nice (offered to finish my laundry if I was going out for the evening) and helpful (were able to provide public transportation directions to many places). Fabio is the owner operator and he speaks English very well.

They have cereal, pastries, yogurt, milk and juice available for breakfast.

They have free wireless internet but it was spotty at times. Overall I had a good experience and I would stay there again.
