“A WEEKEND VISIT TO A WONDERFUL CITY”
Reviewed 29 March 2012

Excellent friendly service in a peaceful location, a good 20 minute walk into the centre of Rome, so if you are in need of good excercise then it is a pleasant walk through the park of Villa Borghesi. Because of the location and having had lots of excersice you will be tempted to have dinner in the hotel. Breakfast in the hotel was excellent however we had dinner in the restaurant on two occasions ,on one evening it was pleasant , however on the Saturday evening, the food was poor. The service was excellent however I felt that even the waiter was uncomfortable about the quality of the food being served. The rooms
were comfortable if slightly dated, however we felt that it was good value in comparrison to many hotels in the centre of Rome.

The Lord Bryron hotel feels like an elegant Art Deco villa. The rooms, lobby and breakfast room are very nicely decorated. Beautiful carpets, marbel and paintings. The staff is very friendly. The hotel is located at an upscale residential neighberhood near the Borghese Gardens. It is about a 20 minutes walk to Piazza di Spagna at the heart of Rome. The metro stop is 15 minutes walk. So the location is not ideal if you like to be located right in the center of the tourist sites, however, walking the beautiful streets of Rome is a pleasure, and we even walked to the Vatican (about half an hour). We had the Classic room which is somewhat small for a five star hotel, however, the room was functional and adequate for 2 adults with 2 large suitcases. The mirror in the bathrooms had permanent stains and should be replaced. Other than the mirror, the room was beautiful. Being on the lower floor, we could hear when people above us were showering a sound of water falling. Not a big deal. Breakfast is tasty, the cappucinno great. Overall I highly recommend this elegant boutique hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at a higher floor.

Our stay at the Lord Byron was nearly perfect. The service was impeccable. Breakfast was wonderful. The walk to the Metro stop at Flaminia was 15 minutes. When in a hurry - like to get to the Vatican - we grabbed a taxi for 10 euro. We did walk back. Restaurants in the area are Ambriatta de Abruzzo and Pagaroma - we went to both twice for dinner. We recommend the Lord Byron without any hesitation.

Room Tip: Be sure to get breakfast included.

What an amazing Hotel. The Lord Byron was started our 12 day journey in Italy. The staff went above and beyond the call of duty. The hotel is off the beaten path, so for those of looking for quiet and relaxing place....this is for you. Only a few min drive or a 20 min walk and you are in the heart of Rome. We rented 2 rooms. Both very cozy...but the one on the 6th floor was like a little treehouse. The staff arranged dinner for us in two nearby restaurants. One had a free shuttle service. The breakfast was good. The rooms very clean and well decorated. I can not say anything bad about this place!

Room Tip: 6th floor has only stairs!

My wife and I recently spent four nights at Hotel Lord Byron and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is situated in a very quiet residential district close to the Borghese Gardens. The tranquil location provides an excellent oasis away from the tourist areas of the city. We enjoy walking so being able to walk through the peaceful environment of gardens to the main attractions of central Rome provided a great way to start and end each day.
We stayed in a Junior Suite on the 4th floor with a small balcony overlooking a park. The suite was spacious enough for our needs with excellent closet and bathroom amenities. With complimentary Wi-Fi this was also an added bonus. The rooms are fitted with electric shutters which ensures a very quiet room with little or no morning light which enhanced our sleeping along with the firm beds which we greatly appreciate when travelling.
The furnishings and art work in the hotel were for us outstanding. As collectors of Art Deco furniture we were delighted to enjoy such lush furnishings and surroundings in every area of the hotel.
The standard of service at the hotel was totally exemplary - from our room maid ( best ever ) to all the front desk staff this a major feature of the hotel. Special mention must be made of the service provided by Nicola , the barman/sommelier in the hotel restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed his recommendations and conversations during our stay.
This hotel provided us with a home away from home and we will always be staying there in our future visits to Rome.

Room Tip: Rooms on the north side of the building.

not sure that it should be classed as a 5 star hotel .... 4 star without question. Very quiet location and need to take a taxi to get to any of the centres of Rome (yes there are more than one centre) ..... Taxi between 7 - 8 Euros to Vatican or Trevi Fountain.

Breakfast is (just) OK but service was long with coffee and eggs taking 5 mins+.

Room (304) had a small balcony but a little sparse on furniture - recommend that the hotel management put an armchair in the corner ... bed hard but comfortable, bathroom very luxe but the shower is fixed to the wall so (Ladies) forget about washing your hair without taking a full shower. Well insulated rooms and the Lobby, Bar, Restaurant areas are all well appointed with ArtDeco and Antiques.

In summary ... A nice comfortable, clean and quiet hotel but far from the restaurants & night life of central Rome.

A small, very stylish 5 star hotel on the edge of Borghese Park just a 10 minute stroll to Flamini piazza; then another 5 minutes to the centre of Rome and most shops/attractions such as the Spanish Steps. The staff are wonderful and help in every way possible. Andrea, the concierge has great English and can arrange everything from the best restaurants, where the Itailians eat, to limousine transfers to and from the Fiumicino.
Massimo and other front of house staff made the stay welcoming and everybody seemed at ease which made us at ease too. Unless you have a need to be in the very heart of Rome this is absolutely ideal. Andrea booked all our guided tours at about 59 euros per person and Francesca, who showed us around the Forum, was a star and worth asking for by name.
Can't wait to go back. We both loved every minute and the December weather was 17'!!

Room Tip: Our corner suite on the fron enjoyed lots of light and don't be concerend about the sideoad whic...
