Yes the rooms were small but I am not spending much waking time here. The roof top terrace is enough to make me come back. Although far away from everything, the subway is close enough to hop a ride right into the mix. Look to the hotel website for special deals.

Location did not seem to be good!! First time in Rome so not sure if that is a hard thing to find at a reasonable price. At least 5 blocks from Republic square whete the Metro is. Rome just seemed to be a busy, dirty city with lots of Rude people. But definetly a must when traveling in Italy.

Many of the rooms have been recently remodeled. The rooms are very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The baths are modern. As others have mentioned, the rooftop restaurant is lovely and the service is great. You have to do a bit of walking to get to the nearest Metro station. Great Gelato right across the street. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful.

Room Tip: Make sure that you get one of the rooms that have been remodeled.

We stayed 2 nights in the Marcella Royal Hotel, staff was very helpful and friendly, will give you directions to and from the city center. Breakfast on the Terrace was very nice where you can look over the city. Parking (meter) around the hotel was quite easy in the nice neighborhood where you will find several restaurants just down the road. Plus the Free Wi-Fi. We enjoyed the stay very much.

We are just home from a 6 day visit to the wonderful city of Rome whilst staying at this hotel. You will not be disappointed if you stay here. The hotel is spottlessly clean and their attention to detail at breakfast is first class. The hotel is situated in a quiet area away from the noise of the city centre but within a 10 minute walk to the Termini train station and local buses are just around the corner. The staff throughout the hotel are very friendly and the reception staff are very helpful and welcoming. We stayed in room 216 which has been renovated. It has a walk in shower and modern bathroom. The room was larger than I expected. The roof terrace on the 7th floor is an absolute gem. The lady who is in charge here has an eye for detail. Sitting having breakfast on the terrace in the sunshine overlooking the city's rooftops is superb. There are lovely restaurants just outside the hotel's front door. As you exit the hotel's front door, to your right, there is an excellent little shop/cafe. It is run by a husband and wife team. The lady makes home made pizza and pasta to order to sit in or take away. Their food is superb and is reasonably priced. Also when in Rome you must definitely try their ice cream. They have vast amounts of flavours to choose from. When walking about Rome you will need a good pair of walking shoes as the cobbled stones, which are everywhere, are sore on the feet. Rome is an expensive city to explore but is out of this world. The public transport in Rome is very cheap and extremely reliable. We used the local buses, metro and trains whilst there. You need to buy a ticket from a tobacconist with the letter 'T' over it before you can use their public transport. It is one euro 50 for one journey which is excellent value for money. You must validate your ticket beforehand. On the buses there is a yellow box inside the bus where you put your ticket in.and it stamps it for you. The same for the metro and the train. There are yellow boxes at the metro stations and the Termini train station. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone and hope that one day we will visit again (as we threw a coin in the Trevi fountain).

This hotel has a wonderful rooftop garden with bar and light dinner service. The view is amazing and can see most of Rome! We really enjoyed having drinks after dinner to admire the spectacular sunset and views. The breakfast is also served on the rooftop, you can eat inside or out on the terrace. Breakfast had lots of options.

The hotel staff are very nice and helpful. The room was nice and had a window that could be opened to look out to the street below. The location is not really close to any tourist attractions, so be prepared to walk to the bus stop (1 street over). The metro is a good walk away. However, there are several really good local restaurants on the same street as Marcella.

We would absolute recommend staying at Marcella. We had a wonderful time in Rome.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 4th floor and had non issues with noise from street below.

We got this hotel in Priceline after bidding for a 4 star hotel downtown Rome. Sincerly it was not the best location since it's kinda far away from old town. Also the room, itself, it was really small. Having said that, let's go to the good things. Lovely Staff!!!! Breakfest included and FREE WI-FI.
