Description: The pub takes its name from the world renowned Irish National Theatre, which was founded by William Butler Yeats and Lady Gregory.Stage props and costumes from the storerooms of the Abbey Theatre have been used in the decor, giving the pub a very special atmosphere. The six fully air conditioned rooms of the pub are spread over two floors, and a huge range of Irish whiskeys, cocktails and long drinks are on offer, as well as Irish beers on tap including, of course, the famous Guinness. The Abbey Theatre offers irish, italian and international cuisine all day everyday. We are able to show all major sports throughout the pub on 14 TV screens. ( NFL, Premiership, Serie A, Rugby World Cup...). The pub has a happy hour during the daytime, live irish music every week, and free Wi-Fi.The pub also offers private parties or weddings. Our welcoming pub, is considered one of the best in the city and it is laid out in typical Irish style with lots of little rooms linked by narrow corridors.

We visited to watch the Manchester city and Liverpool game along with the Roma and Barcelona game so the bar was packed. We paid 6 euro for one beer which is a little pricey but the staff was great even in such a crowded situation. It was a great time!

Stopped here for some lunch while out wandering in Rome. Staff were Irish so it was easy to communicate. I had the chicken strips and some chips which were okay and arrived promptly however there was a mix-up with my sister's order and this didn't arrive until after I finished my meal.
We had some cocktails too which were really nice and reasonably priced.

Amazing place, we dropped on the pub by accident and ended up coming here every evening of our trip, English speaking and friendly staff made us feel so welcome, met a few people from all around the world that were fun to chat to, it greatly added to our weekend in Rome.

The 4 of us returned to Rome this year and decided to try out those Irish bars we missed out on last year. Abbey Theatre Pub is a short walk from Piazza Navona and thus a great stopping point for both refreshment and food. Guinness was great, the food being traditionally Irish fair was excellent. No wonder we returned again during our stay. Recommend it!

We visited a few times whilst in Rome. We wanted somewhere that would be showing the rugby and have a great atmosphere. The staff were great, food was lovely and you get a lot for your money so you won't leave hungry.
