Stayed at the hotel with my girlfriend for 4 nights in late March - had a lovely stay. The hotel is perfectly situated in central Rome and is walking distance to all major tourist sites (20 mins to Colosseum, 25 mins to Vatican, etc). The hotel also has a fantastic roof terrace that looks over the rooftops of the City - the hotel is happy for guests to bring their own drinks to the rooftop, which is a nice way to end a day of site seeing.

Due to the age/location of the building, the bedrooms are quite small but are well equipped with modern bathrooms. Due to the roof terrace and number of sites in the local area, not much time is spent in the rooms meaning the size is definitely adequate for most.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, recommending good restaurants and organising a taxi in advance to pick us up from the airport.

The breakfast was ample, but the friendly lady serving could have done with a bit more assistance as she had to refill juices, clear tables, take tea/coffee orders, etc all by herself - she coped well but sometimes there was a bit of a wait due to the lack of support. However, i realise there are cost implications re this and it was a minor downside to a great overall experience.

Overall, would definitely recommend. Location is fantastic and staff go out of there way to assist.

Dear guest,

“A trip to Rome, the Eternal City, is an exploration of the historical periods lived by humanity”
The birth of Rome dates back to April 21st 753 B. C by two brothers Romolus and Remus.
Romolus became the first of seven Romans king who began the enlargement of the City.
After 2764 years you can admire all the places which contributed to make Rome Caput Mundi
There is a book I would like to suggest you written by an Italian author but translated in English: “History of Rome” by Indro Montanelli which elaborate the growth of Rome until its decadence.
You experienced the “Perfect location” being able to explore the hidden treasures of Rome.
It is essential to choose the right place. Within a few minutes walking you can admire the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Coliseum as well as the Vatican.
On the ground floor of our hotel, you can see the inscription mentioning one of renovations of the building 1753.
We are aware of the expectations of our guests, this is why we aim to provide the highest quality service. I assume that your wait for the coffee was due to an exception, because it could happen that guests from the apartments come to have breakfast without notice. I wish that this matter didn’t spoil your trip comparing with all the masterpieces of Caravaggio, Michelangelo, Bernini , Borromini and many more spread all over the city which you had the privilege to admire.

Spent 3 nights by myself in March and wish I had stayed longer, my friends stayed at another hotel close to the Termini. Stayed at room 102 and loved it. The size, the decor the appropriate lighting in the bathroom (very hard to find in a any hotel). I read reviews saying the top floors are better but I thought it was great to have easy access to the stairs to go to the breakfast room and to the lobby . The elevator is quite small. Rooftop has amazing views at all times especially at sunset with a glass of Chianti. I love the decor. Location was perfect, you could walk to almost all sites from there. Breakfast was great, Maria makes a wonderful capuccino and handles well the demands of guests who are not used to wait 5 minutes for their coffee. The best part of all is the wonderful staff! Very efficient, friendly, accommodating and beautiful! Barbara and Valentina were amazing, kind and gave me great advice for restaurants and shops. Andrea, called a restaurant to make sure they had risotto that night because I mentioned that I wanted to eat that. Gabriel went to the market to find me to tell me that my car (that they booked to take me to the airport and I highly recommended) was a few minutes early and if I wanted to go he was ready for me. I travel often and can easily say that I can't wait to stay there again!

Room Tip: Room 102 was perfect for me. Very well insulated from the street noise but I enjoyed during a late a...

Dear guest,

“Amazing staff and a fantastic location”
What a reader understands from your review is that your experience has been positively different from all the other trips.
All your sensations you shared with the other travellers, are the result of the efforts to offer you a special attention, as we do with each single guest, which goes beyond your expectations.
The décor, which is refined in all the ambiences, enables you to enjoy the private atmosphere you experienced in our hotel.
We continuously improve our high quality breakfast, served in the library, which we provide with a variety of fresh juices, yogurts, espresso, American coffee, tea cheese, salami, croissant and fresh bread.
Arranging our luxury car service, was part of our welcome as the private driver picked you up at the airport avoiding you the crowd and accompanying you directly inside the hotel.
“The best part is the wonderful staff”: we are aware of the importance of being highly efficient towards our guests, moreover because we are convinced that is part of our duty to take you by hand and guide you through the hidden secrets of the Eternal City.
We look forward to welcome you again

Best regards

We had one of the small apartments and we were very satisfied with it, and with the friendly and helpful staff. The Campo de Fiori is a fascinating place: touristy enough that the shopkeepers speak better English than my Italian, but not so much so that the foreigners outnumber the locals. The market during the day gives way to dining in the evening, all beneath the looming statue of Giordano Bruno, burnt to death there in 1600 for heresy. Plenty of tourist sites within easy walking distance, such as the Pantheon and the Piazza Navona. The piazza can get noisy at nights, but our apartment was a few metres away, as is the main building of the hotel.

Room Tip: If you want an apartment, specify it when you book

Dear guest,

We have apartments which host from 1 to 5 people. All of our apartments are within a 1 minute walking distance from the hotel and are furnished with all modern comforts such as free WiFi, A/C, Flat LCD TVS etc. etc. The central location makes all of our facilities a must for all types of guests especially families with children since we all know that kids are easily irritated.

A must is to see the statue of the monk Giordano Bruno, a historical event which took place in the centre of the Piazza over 400 years ago and today a statue is the testimony of the burning. The walls of the buildings that surround the piazza were seen by the monk as he burned and today visible by you.
The area filled with bars, pizzerias, trattorias etc. make it the trendiest area of Rome today while being close to all historical monuments. Our staff is always available to indicate all that is necessary for our guests.

Thanking you for the time taken to write your review,
Best regards,

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for 5 days in August while visiting Rome. We were (and still are) absolutely in love with this hotel. Because we planned to walk just about everywhere in Rome, this hotel offered the perfect location to the Trevi fountain, Colosseum, the Vatican etc. We also loved walking out of the hotel in the mornings and visiting the coffee shop across the street and the piazza for some fresh fruit directly from the market. The afternoon we arrived (tired and jet lagged), we were able to unpack, shower and walk a few steps out the door and get some fabulous Carbonara in the piazza while families and friends played and relaxed! It was truly an Italian experience.
In addition to the excellent location, the rooms were great. We had a double/queen sized bed and separate bath. We loved the decor - it was very "Roma". The room and bathroom was very clean. There was a flat-screen TV and alarm clock and a window over looking the terrace. It was the perfect room to unwind after a long day touring Rome.
The staff was very nice and offered many times to schedule tours and reservations for us. They gave us great suggestions of traditional eateries that were off the beaten "tourist" path. I truly believe that they would have done just about anything for us! We spoke very little Italian and the staff was so accommodating with their English.
We found the price to be very reasonable considering the location and room appointments.
As a side note, we flew into Rome airport and took the train into Rome city. We then attempted to walk the mile or so to the hotel, but found it too confusing and the neighborhoods a little unnerving. In the end, we hailed a taxi and were there in 5 minutes. I would recommend a taxi from the train station to the hotel.

For me, the best recommendation is one who states they will stay at the hotel again - and we absolutely will. We will stay here again and again on our next trips to Rome.

Room Tip: The area can be a bit noisy at night with the clubs nearby. That said, we had a room with a window...

“It was truly an Italian experience”

If you kept vivid memories of your travel experience and of your stay with us, even after 7 months, that means plain success: of Rome, and, if you please, also of our Hotel.

Along your writing you mention three of our strong points: first of all our prime location that, as you stated, allows you to walk without stress to all the wonders of the Eternal City. Moreover we are located in one of the most authentic areas in Rome, where our guests have the possibility to immerse theirselves in the real “Roman life” experience.

You praised our rooms décor as well: we have worked, and we will always work very hard to make our rooms as comfortable as possible, being all equipped with flat-screen TV, free wifi, and hi-tech bathrooms, but always maintaining their original style and the charming and romantic atmosphere of the ancient Roman Renaissance palaces. All rooms have been furnished with original antiques and paintings, and they are all unique being all different one from the other.

Lastly you mentioned the staff, who also played a big role in making your stay, and consequently your entire trip, not an ordinary one but a fascinating sensorial experience, that you will forever keep in your memory.

Thanking you once again, and hoping to welcome you back soon

Warm Regards
F. Severino

During a recent two week trip to Italy, including 7 days in Rome, this was by far the best hotel of all! Fantastic attention to detail in the hotel, luxury throughout and a roof top terrace with incredible views ranging from St. Peters Cathedral to Palazzo Venezia! We stayed in two of the rooms on the top floor (6th floor), which I highly recommend if your budget allows. However, all of the rooms have access to the rooftop terrace so if your budget dictates a room on a lower floor, no worries. The location is perfect! The adjacent plaza (Campo De Fiori) has a wonderful daily market and numerous dining options are a very short walk away. This hotel is very close to Piazza Navona, the Pantheon and is an easy walk to Trastevere. We even walked from the hotel to the Borghese gallery, but admittedly that is a long walk (but well worth it). We will definitely stay here again if we return to Rome in the future.

Room Tip: Suggest top floor (6th floor) if budget allows. Only three rooms on the top floor...favorite is the...

Dear Guests,

Being praised as “the best hotel of all, during a recent two week trip to Italy” is a valuable acknowledgement to us, as you had also the possibility to compare this experience with others you made during your whole trip.

We pride ourselves on this, as we have contributed to make your Roman holiday a lively memory: thanks to our unbeatable location that allows you to reach walking all the major historical sites but also thanks to the coziness and comforts of our rooms.
Having chosen our top-of-the-range rooms, you had the opportunity to experience the utmost in elegance and romance. You also chose to experience both top floor rooms, which means also two different but equally outstanding views of the Eternal City: the view of St. Peter’s dome, and of the Roman sunset on one side, and the view of the Vittorio Emanuel Monument, known as “Vittoriano” and the roofs of Rome at daybreak on the other side.
As a results of all the pampering and well being you have experienced we are glad to know that our hotel will be your choice again for your future Roman holiday.

Warmest Regards

Stayed for 3 nights in March ,would have stayed 4 nights but extra night was 560 euro's ,more that the 3 night stay combined. When we arrived we were allocated room 103 (standard room) The room was very dark due to very heavy curtains covering a small window. The lights were required at all times .As it was 20c + in Rome we opened the window to gain some air, The window opened onto a small quadrant ,which was the height of the hotel, no view at all, when the window was opened all we could hear was the constant rumble of a fan which was unbearable. We tried the air conditioning but all we could get was the heating mode. which was set to a minimum of 19c.
We complained at reception and they explained that the air conditioning had not yet been switch on, but they agreed to move us the next day to a deluxe room, Room 102. This was slight larger than the previous room and had 2 windows that overlooked the front of the hotel
Although there was some noise from outside this was better than the constant hum of a fan

Now for the good parts. The hotel has a fantastic location, all sights within 30 minutes of hotel. Continental Breakfast served in the basement. booked a car with the hotel from the airport .this was spot on both ways. The decor of the hotel is not to everybody’s taste but was to ours, very nicely decorated, The roof terrace gives a fantastic view over Rome and chilling out with a bottle of wine with the sun shinning was fantastic.
Would definitely stay here again but would book a deluxe room and would be selective of when we visited, as the hotel can be overly expensive, tea/coffee in the room would have been appreciated

Room Tip: If over 65 them you can get free admissin to the Coliseum

Dear guests,

“Excellent Hotel but with some issue”

While you define our hotel “excellent” you begin your review with the small “issues”, that unfortunately did not allow you to enjoy completely all the other good things that our hotel offered you during your stay.

Let’s go down to details as I have to clarify some points of your statements:

1) Room rates: like most of the hotels our rates may change constantly as they fluctuate depending on the hotel availability. On the extra night you mentioned the hotel was almost fully booked, this is why the rate was higher than the other days. However we do always encourage our guests to contact the Hotel directly by phone or by email in order to check together with us the best available rate. Also, our rates depend on the period you decide to stay: there’s a high or a off season.

2) Room temperature: with the changing of seasons – spring just begun when you arrived in Rome – it is usual to have cold or rainy days (actually at the end of February we even had snow after 30 years!) followed by warm and sunny days, with a sudden temperature fluctuation of 10-15 degrees. Moreover there is a city hall legislation that does not allow us to modify the temperature below or above certain limits.

I understand that with such particular weather conditions you may have experienced some issues but, as you stated, you did appreciated the prompt solution our staff offered you.

We moved you in one of our deluxe rooms because our only concern was to make your stay as comfortable as possible. As soon as you let us know we sorted it out.

You wrote that “the décor of the hotel was not to everybody’s taste but was to ours”: being a boutique hotel all our rooms are one different to the other, they all have their personal decoration and character, and each one is studied to convey comfort as well as a magical atmosphere. “De gustibus non disputandum est”, the latin maxim meaning that in matters of taste there can be no disputes: It may not be to everybody’s taste but it is to the taste of the people who chose our Hotel.

You closed your review saying that you would have appreciated a tea or a coffee in the room: if you had asked us we would have been pleased to provide you.

Having clarifying these aspects, in any case I would like to thank you for your appreciations and for your all in all positive marks.

Wishing you all the best

Regards,

F. Severino

We had stayed in Parioli for 13 nights, Positano for 7, so wanted to be in the midst of everything for our last 3 days. This hotel was perfect. Staff are very helpful and Valentina is especially warm and humorous....she even directed me to a great fabric store! The restaurant recommendation was exceptional.
We reserved a double deluxe room and although a bit small it is well laid out and the bathroom is new and sparkly. The sound proofing is very effective. Loved the breakfast and especially loved the rooftop in the early morning, listening to Rome waking up.
