When you check in at the front desk - the guys are there to help you with whatever you need. they have worked there between 20 and 40 years and have great recommendations for where to go and how....and where to eat! The rooms are all a little varied. Mine had a bathtub and shower which was great to soak in after a long day of walking Rome. The room is comfortable and the bed is fine if you like firm beds. The hotel is located just within the ancient walls of Rome - and that is breathtaking when you walk out of your hotel the first time to see that you are in ancient Rome. There is a Metro entrance about a block from the hotel that will get you to the Spagna (spanish steps) Metro station. Hop into the Metro and buy a 24 hour pass for 6 Eu and it gives you access to the Metro and to all of the busses.

Breakfast is a good mix of cereal, bacon and eggs, cheeses, and cold cuts....oh and great pastries. They will bring you coffee, cappucino, or espresso to your liking.

Ask the guys at the front desk to suggest a restaurant.....We ate in trattatorias where the locals would eat and had great food. When you sit down at any restaurant - ask what is good today - dont only order from the menu. Ask for the restaurant that Livio runs for a great meal at a fantastic price.

If you are from the US - remember that if a hotel says it has AC in europe - that likely means that you may be able to turn the fan on - but you will not have control of the temperature.....and they dont like their hotel rooms as cold as we do.

We spent 8 days at the Hotel Victoria Roma while on an organized tour of Rome. Pricing was moderate and a very good value. The tour organizer selected the Hotel. The property is centrally located in a secure, upscale, quiet neighborhood on Via Campania, 41. It is a short walk to the Barberini Fountain and the Spanish Steps shopping area and other attractions. A short walk in any direction provides easy access to a variety of excellent neighborhood restaurants, wine or gift shops, bus stops and taxi's The hotel is rated 4 stars. It was built in 1899, it was spotlessly clean, beautifully kept, well decorated, and was very good value OA. Our tour package included breakfast and some dinners all which were superior. We looked forward to breakfast every morning, it was excellent. Buffet style, the selection was broad ranging from American to classic Euro with a variety of cereal, fruits eggs, meats breads beverages. The concierge staff were multi-lingual, all spoke excellent English. They were professional, courteous, knowledgeable and very helpful with local tour information, transportation details and restaurant selection based preference and pricing. There is a wine shop across the street, pick up a bottle of you favorite and take the elevator to the roof and enjoy a terrific view of Rome. We visited in late March and the roof restaurant was not open, which was great, we were the only ones there, but during the summer months the roof is open for dinner. All things considered, I would not hesitate to return to the Hotel Victoria for OA value, comfort and service.

We stayed for 7 nights for the spring break this year and had a pleasant stay. The staff were all helpful. Rooms are clean and big. Bathroom is huge and very clean. Daily breakfast was very good. Free Internet. Hotel is walking distance to Spanish steps and other sites. A block from taxi stand and metro is also walking distance from the hotel. There is a restaurant a block from the hotel called il pomodorino that's cheap and has excellent food. The only negative thing I can say about this hotel is that there was a thermostat in the room but was not working so therefor there was no AC. They said that it was not season yet to turn the A C on. We had to open the windows but you can hear noise from the street and smell cigarette smoke if you open the windows so we had to close them and just try to sleep even if it is warm in the room. Overall, this hotel is very good for the price and i recommend this hotel

Spent 5 days in Rome and was very pleased with the accommodations. The staff was extremely helpful with suggestions and request. The room was very comfortable and we had a great view of the Villa Borghese and the Roman Wall. The breakfast was very good plus the lobby area was a nice place to sit and use the WiFi. The hotel was convenient to the metro and because the park was across the street, we would leave our window open at night for the breeze and had no loud noises that disturbed our sleep. When I returned to Rome (I threw my coins in the Trevi Fountain), I will stay at Hotel Victoria.

Staying at the Hotel Victoria was not part of mine and my boyfriends plan for Rome however a mix up due to Travel Republic meant our hotel Hotel Mascagni was over booked and they were expecting us a day later than we had booked. They were aware of the problem before we arrived and arranged for us a one night stay at the Hotel Victoria.

The staff at the Hotel Victoria were very friendly and understanding of the inconvenience that had been caused to us, they got us swiftly checked in and were helpful in pointing out to us where the hotel was located.
The location of Hotel Victoria was good, in walking distance of the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon etc.

The hotel itself is clean and the decor in the rooms is let’s say interesting; it seemed whoever designed the rooms wanted to include every pattern and pastel colour going! But no one is going to Rome to stay in the hotel room are they! The room was clean, spacious with a very big bathroom.
The shower in the bathroom wasn’t great, it didn’t run very fast at all and for you ladies with long hair that need a hairdryer I would advise you take your own, the hairdryer in the bathroom was useless!

The breakfast at the hotel was good, there was scrambled egg, small sausages and bacon plenty of fresh fruit, breads, pastries, fresh juices, cereal, jams etc.

Taking into consideration the location of the hotel, the breakfast, the rooms, and the staff I would give Hotel Victoria 3 stars, I think it’s pushing it for 4 stars. With a lick of paint and redecoration it wouldn’t be far off though I guess.

Word of warning if you stay at the Hotel Victoria – nothing to do with the hotel but we ate at a place nearby on the main road called Cafe Veneto. (It’s a restaurant next to a restaurant called Harry’s Bar) Don’t waste your money eating here. I have written a lengthy review on trip advisor about this restaurant but in a nutshell, it was poor service, overpriced, ok food - an arrogant money grabbing restaurant! Avoid as there is plenty of choice if you carry on walking down the road.

On a first time trip to Rome with my 15 year old daughter. The staff, especially the front desk, was engaging without being intrusive, was available for anything we needed, and was just made us feel entirely welcome.

Room was clean and spacious enough for two of us. The bathroom was new. Room service was good enough and basic enough for us to see it as an option after being out all day.

Location is terrific with many things within walking distance.

Overall, a great place to stay and priced very reasonably relative to the rest of the neighborhood.

Room Tip: Discovered that there is a Despar market nearby. That made it possible to pick up supplies relative...

Ive been traveling to Rome since 1995 for business and it was only last week at I stayed in the Hotel Victoria for the first time.
The stay was very nice indeed. Extremely clean and the staff were super friendly.
The rooms are a little on the small side but still very nice.
It’s a great location at the top of Via Veneto – a short walk to Barberini Square, Spanish Steps & Fontana De Trevi.

Room Tip: Book the Deluxe as the Standard is too bare.
