It really liked the fact you could see major attractions in Italy in less than 30 minutes walking. Spanish steps, pantheon. Staff a Lillie grumpy but it’s Italy, rooms clean, WiFi was great, bed was comfy

As with other reviews, this place is well past it heyday. Clearly rests on its laurels of location.

No room service menu and all a bit messy for the business traveler

The staff were typically rude, shrugged a lot and basically said it wasn’t their fault the service was poor

Oh and VERY expensive

I would avoid if you can

boy… What a place this hotel was back in the day… The problem is, that time is long gone…It is evident that the glory days of this hotel have long past. The elevator ride is something of an excitement every time, as you don’t know on which floor you might end up on or if the doors will open if and when you get there. The hotel bar has the charms of a bus/train station, including the bright lights atmosphere.
On the plus side, the rooms are very clean and the staff is friendly. The location of the hotel is also a major plus, with all major attractions within walking distance.
A thorough renovation of the facility is definitely required… so please let management know, the 80s are long gone…
PS: and please have the lifts fixed!

We received very good service from an English speaking staff throughout our four nights stay. Location is excellent. Our room was fair size with large windows and good A/C. However, towels smelled bad and everything to do with the bathroom's condition needs to be renovated urgently. Breakfast though was excellent, with fresh fruit and vegetables and a nice selection of cereals, cheeses and pastries.

* For those who keep Kosher, we were happy to find a nice Kosher restaurant just across the hotel.

Room tip: Ask for a room with no carpets

I was very worried after reading all the reviews. I stayed two nights at the beginning of my Trafalgar tour. First and most important the air conditioning was working. It was not on as strong as at other hotels during my time in Italy, but it was enough that I was comfortable when it was in the mid 90s in Rome.

My room was small with one double bed but was clean. It was enough space for me and my luggage but was definitely a single room. The bathroom had issues as the small compartment shower leaked out of the sides and flooded the floor. Also, the second day when I returned to the room, the water in the sink came out brown. I let it run and it did stop.

The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was nice and well stocked.
