Beautiful Baroque Church with extravagant interior, beautiful but overdecorated. Alright, this church is appalling in its opulence. So much wealth was squandered on this propaganda piece it is breath-taking. From every view, this place was meant to signal power and wealth (and maybe a little religion.)

Building started in 1652 and was still being added to in 1729 so the architectural theme went through several plans leading to a more complicated interior then originally planned. It is nevertheless beautiful. The frescoes are colorful, the marble columns highlight altars, and sculptures are detailed telling religious stories. This is right on Piazza Navona, easy to access. Check the hours on the gate in front. They do close to the public for special events.

Worth a visit, the interior is exquisite. But people need to read the 'no photo signs'. Location in the Piazza Navona and close to the Pantheon makes it easy to plan the day and get in the sights.

The church is beautiful and in one of the most beautiful parts of Rome, piazza Navona. But the best surprise is the music during the 12:15 Sunday mass. Depending on the week, It alternates between Gregorian and Polyphonic, the two pillars of traditional Catholic mass music. I was at the Polyphonic one and it was just outstanding, both the choir and the organ, in particular Bach's "Wachet auf". One note of warning: this is NOT a tourist event, it is a religious celebration. If you are one of the uncivilized folks who consider beautiful places only as a background for selfies with stupid faces, and think that you can make noise everywhere, forget about it: do not spoil the superb spiritual experience of others!

It may not be a very top-tier Rome church, but if it isn’t, it’s damn close. This church on Piazza Navona is very pretty with some excellent craftmanship. Because it is right on Piazza Navona, even if it were far worse than it is, it would still be worth seeing because you are right there because you should not go to Rome without visiting Piazza Navona. It’s tourist malpractice. We didn’t go, but we wanted to, to concerts held there. They had Vivaldi Four Seasons at a reasonable cost and I thought it would be a nice night out. We found out about it right before we were supposed to leave and it just didn’t work for us schedule-wise. We’ll go next time.
