First of all, I would like to praise the hotel for its very clean bathroom and for the good air conditioning in the rooms. What I do not like at all is that the breakfast is very monotonous and the bread is dry (NO 4 STAR STANDARD). But what I find worst of all is that the cleaning ladies did not make the bed but searched my bag for that! UNBELIEVABLE. I would have given the hotel a maximum of 1 star.

Dear Guest Markus,

thank you very much for having chosen our hotel for your last stay in Rome and for the good impressions you had regarding our rooms.

Regarding the "dry" bread you found during breakfast, we apologize for that and we already forwarded your review to the F&B department so that they can take immediate action.

Regarding the housekeeper, please send me a private email to my address; FDM@grandhotelfleming.it, I would need to know your date of check in and the room number so that I can start an investigation regarding the accusations you are making.

We thank you again for having been our guest and we wish you a safe trip back home.

Sincerely,

Alessandro Spaziani

Was referred by a local to the Grand Fleming Hotel. First warning sign was a large school group!! When we entered the room the thermostat was permanently set to 26.5 degree’s Celcious or 79.5 degrees Fahrenheit. Called to the front desk who informed me that “the thermostat is set and can’t be altered”!! We went out for dinner only to find small ants along the wall and in the bathroom. The ceiling tile was also off in the bathroom which showed layers of gray dust!!!! My daughter then pointed out another line of ants!!!!! We stayed in Room 538. Would NEVER stay here again!!!!!

Stayed here with a large group. Overall the hotel is not bad, but the A/C is the absolute worst I have ever experienced. Upon arrival the dial showed 26 degrees and two days later it had only come down to 24.5. Of course we tried adjusting the settings lower, but this made no difference. Many others in the group experienced the same.
When we visited the lounge and the restaurant it was exactly the same. Hot and stuffy

Arriving late night at this hotel, we were taken for a surprise by casual attitude and poor grooming standards of the reception staff (especially ladies), who had unkept hair, no makeup and casual body language. The hostess at the restaurant made faces when I could not pull out the plastic glasses which were stuck together at breakfast. We got three single beds for husband, wife and teenage daughter which were cramped together. The washroom was clean. The hotel is a bit far from the main tourist places in Rome and the neighbourhood was residential area.

Vacation hotels are a place for us to sleep. We do not spend days and days there. That said, Grand Hotel Fleming is a perfectly good hotel for vacationers. It was clean. Staff that we encountered were helpful and attentive. We did have some concerns/dislikes. First, how do elevators in Italy work? We easily got an elevator up to our floor. Getting one to stop to go down again was nearly impossible. We did not understand how they worked. Second, when you enter your room, you do not get electricity until you insert your room key into the slot near the door. This means that you cannot leave the air conditioning on while you are gone. Not great in the summer. Third, without the a/c running during the day, the room is warm when you return. After you shower, the room is hotter and steamy (no bathroom vent). The outer wall was half windows. With the curtains open, people can easily see into the room. So, you close the curtains to protect your privacy. Then the floor-to-ceiling curtains which are light-blocking, also block the a/c vent on the unit on that wall, leaving the hot room hot. I finally figured out how to drag the curtain and drape it across the back of the a/c unit to allow the vent to blow into the room. Not a good design. Fourth, the walls are not sound-proof. All 3 nights we were there we listened to a family with a dog barking, baby crying or playing, scraping chairs across the floor, dropping heavy items, etc. And, they stayed up late, all of them. Fourth, breakfast came with our stay (we were in a group). There was nothing special about it. It was the same everyday. Croissant or breakfast cakes, cold cuts and cheese, cold breads. Juice and coffee were fine. Fifth, the hotel is outside the Rome circle. This means there is limited public transportation (one bus a couple of blocks away). Uber cost 20-25 euros; taxis cost 15-20 euros and were usually sitting in front of the hotel. Six, the bed was hard and the pillow thin. We did not ask much of the hotel staff. We were only there at night. Our shower worked fine. Bathroom door won't stay open and there was no exhaust vent to take steam away.
