Reviewed 18 February 2012

It would be churlish to be critical of such a perfectly located hotel that cost so little for a double room. Certainly one that offers FREE wifi throughout. It was however unfortunate that my occupation coincided with the first snows in Rome in 25 years.

Consequently, the limitations of the heating and absence of additional bedding became apparent. Given the age of the HVAC systems it seems reasonable to question how bearable the room would be in summer; although aircon is available at an additional cost.

The only issues that travellers should be aware of are the absence of guest toiletries, other than hand soap and the extremely tight nature of the bathroom. As someone who has enjoyed better nourishment than necessary I found the shower cubicle somewhat restrictive, bordering on uncomfortable.

Overall, the room was clean, staff very helpful and it didn't seem especially noisy. Yes,the basin was cracked and maintenance could have been better, but for what I paid it did the job.

Excellent location, five minutes from Termini station. Our room was clean and quiet - we requested a room at the back of the hotel to avoid the room which can be quite noisy. The water pressure wasn't great and the towels were paper thin, and we would recommend avoiding the breakfast service. However, the hotel reception staff were very helpful and everything else was good value for money. We would stay again - but bring our towels next time!

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room at the back

We stayed at this hotel for 3 days before going on a Meditteranian Cruise. It was a perfect location to Termini Station and met all our needs. Great little cafe just outside the door with great food. Wasn't a fancy room, but we weren't in Rome to stay in our room. We would definitly stay there again.

Very close to the subway station and from the place where the airport bus leaves you. Quite close to central Rome if you are a fan of strolling around the city. Rooms are decent, clean and comfortable and the hotel staff are friendly even though they do not necessarily look very professional. Breakfast is the biggest dissapointment of all, because of the extremely low variety but you can call it basic.
Not fancy place but nothing to complain about either.

We use this hotel because it is an easy walk to the station. Hotel is clean. Rooms are basic, but adequate. Front staff are friendly.

I wouldn't say that I was overly dissapointed with my stay at hotel RomAntica because you really just get what you pay for. The room was okay, it was clean with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was clean but did smell a bit. breakfast was okay but not a lot of variety. However for the price and the fact that it is in Rome it was what I expected. I have three main problems with this hotel which would stop me from staying here again. Firstly; the hotel isn't in a good area, yes it is very close to the train but this is the olny positive the resturants around the hotel were not good and the area felt unsafe at night. If I ever go back I would pay the extra and stay in the older part of Rome. Secondly; there was aircon in the room but you had to pay to use it, this is really quite poor as the rooms are so hot. Finally the worst part of this hotel were the breakfast ladies. Two women served breakfast and one of the them was extremely rude, if you got a hello out of her you were very lucky. She looked around the room with an angry look on her face and made you feel very uncomfortable. This is the main reason I would not recommend staying here, no matter how much you pay for a hotel the people working there should not be rude.

I stayed here in July with my boyfriend for 4 nights in a 10 night holiday that involved Rome, Paris and Disneyland.

We flew to Ciampino Airport and took the terravision coach into Termini for €8 each return! From Termini Hotel Romantica was less than a 5 minute walk! It was about 11 o clock when we got the hotel and thankfully our room was ready as we just wanted to shower and sleep after such an early flight! Unfortunately our room didn't have air conditioning (apparently we were supposed to state when booking that we wanted this service??) but the man on reception kindly gave us an electric fan to plug in for free. I don't think we would have survived without this!

We got to our room and it was fine. There was a double bed, a wardrobe and a desk with a tv. We also had a balcony which was fantastic as we could rinse out our clothes and dry them on the balcony quickly. (very convenient with the crazy roman heat!). Our bathroom was big and clean and it had a double shower. There was also a safe in the room.

Breakfast was included in our booking but we only availed of it one morning. There were pastries, cold hard boiled eggs, tea and coffee and jams and juices.

From our hotel we were able to walk to the colleseum and one day we walked to the Vatican city.
There is a supermarket near to the hotel where you an buy cold fruit and drinks and there are numerous restaurants nearby which are cheap and offer lovely food.

A great thing about Rome which I think saved us about €50 was the water fountains everywhere. We only bought a couple of bottles of water and kept refilling them at the fountains. The water was lovely, cold and refreshing!

All in all we had a great stay in Hotel RomAntica! And I wouldn't hesitate in reccomending it to a friend!
