We arrived on a Sunday afternoon after a white knuckle ride from the airport. Radu was at the front desk to greet us with a helpful hand and easy charm. Our room was large, spotless and modern. The hotel is a 15 minute amble to the Trevi Fountain; my partner and I walked to and from all the major sites of Rome (The Vatican was a reach).

Be advised this hotel is not a Holiday Inn or a Marriott (thank goodness). This is a Bed and Breakfast writ large. It's small, charming and quirky. The hotel has less than 30 rooms, and what a plus that is! It's as if the staff works exclusively for you. Internet service is intermittent, but the staff worked tirelessly to get us online (Stefano, the owner explained that the hotel's location close to the Department of Defence is the cause of internet problems). After some initial glitches we were up and running for the balance of our stay. The hotel is located on the 3rd floor, getting to the floor means a ride up a small lift. Sometimes, users would forget to close the doors prompting a call up the shaft "Hellooooo Hellooooo!!"

Something else - the rooms have unusual towels. Don't be put off! They are top quality cotton. They do the job, and dry quickly so if you need to shower twice in a day - you can count of the towels being dry for the second time around.

Nothing makes a trip to a strange city more relaxing than knowing that you have a comfortable base of operation - thanks Stefano and staff for providing us with our "fortress of solitude" - how corny is that!

I think everyone staying here was not only American but toting a Rick Steves guidebook. This hotel is near the Termini train station, which can be convenient. The hotel staff spoke great English and was very helpful (like keeping our 4 bags for hours free of charge). The wi-fi only worked on what would have been a lovely courtyard-view balcony except that it was full of smoking guests most of the time. Breakfast was only cakes and pre-packaged cheeses. Our room was wonderful--very quiet, very hot water, efficient air conditioning, and two full rooms!

Our first trip to Italy was shaped by our very satisfying stay at the Hotel Oceania. The friendly and helpful guidance from Anna and Roberto were always accurate and reassuring. Rick Steve's suggestion of this hotel was just perfect for us. The location, breakfasts, and the comfort of the room we're just perfect. We would definitely return to the Hotel Oceania and recommend it to everyone.

My wife and I have stayed here twice in the last few years. The hotel has recently expanded and the newer rooms are first rate. Ask for advice on local restaurants, hiring guides, taxis, and other needs. They are very helpful.

My mother, aunt, cousin and I shared a quadruple room at Hotel Oceania recently and were so pleased with the outstanding quality, in every area. The staff, accommodations, location, breakfast were all wonderful. Very professional yet genuinely personal and hospitable. We will definitely stay here again and will recommend Hotel Oceania to friends/family/co-workers! Kelley C

My friend and I stayed at Hotel Oceania for four nights and it was great! The staff were so friendly and helpful. As soon as we walked through the doors we were greeted and given a map of the city.

The rooms have high ceilings and are a good size for Europe. The bed is very firm and comfortable. The only downside is the rooms don't have wifi so you have to go to the reception area or sit on the terrace. The terrace is a nice place to relax especially on a sunny day!

Breakfast is included which includes coffee, tea and juice and an assortment of pastries. There aren't any savory breakfast items but everything is very tasty. Coffee is very good and they also give you a pot of steamed milk. The breakfast lady is so nice and remembered we really like our nutella so she gave us extra.

Staff is very friendly and always do their best to help you out which made all the difference in a city that is full of people trying to rip you off (taxi drivers)!

The location is nice and quiet since its located by the national defense and other government buildings. We walked everywhere in Rome since Trevi fountain was only 10-15 minute walk away. Then up the other street is via nationzale where there are some shops and restaurants.

After traveling in Europe for a month this was my favourite hotel! Mostly due to their awesome staff !

The hotel is situated in a quite area at walking distance to the most touristic points in Rome.
The rooms occupy the third floor of a beautiful old seignorial building.
The bedrooms are very nice decorated and, the most important, equipped with very comfortable bed.
Both the bathroom and the bed are very clean.
The savonettes provided by the hotel smell great.
