Just came from our vacation in Italy. My husband and I were staying in this hotel for 4 nights. Very good location, close to Termini. When we arrived to Rome by plain we took Leonardo Express train and arrived to Rome Termini. From Termini it is very close to get to this hotel. It is 2 small blocks from Termini, which is very convenient. It is not bad area, few good restaurants, places to see. Room was very small, but it was very important that air conditioner is off, because it is not mid of July. It was so hot that we can not breath. Door to bathroom was broken and we can not close it. We talk to reception and after short fight they change our room. It was a little bigger and most important we could breath. Breakfast was normal. For example: salami, cheese, ham, cereal, fruit salad, biss cotti, juice, 4 types of cakes (which were very good), coffee, cappuchino. So more than enough do not been hungry. Another problem that they do not have wi fi in rooms, only in the lobby. This country lives in the mid of 20 century.
It was very inconvinient do not have an internet in the room. They also did not have an iron or ironing board, which is very strange for 4 * hotel. But at all it is not so bad. What was good it is pillow. Very comfortable.

Room Tip: If you have money stay in 5* hotel.

It's the worst hotel I stayed in in my whole life, every bad experience, name it, dirty bad smile, poor breakfast, no wifi only in lobby, staff attitude very bad, room size is not small it's extremely small when comparing with budget hotels.
For the ratings I put 1 however it's even not deserve one.

HOTEL ARCHIMEDE was the hotel we chose to stay in on our first holiday to Rome and all I can say is that the Hotel was a great choice,so much so that on reading the extremely negative reviews of this hotel I started to wonder if that the people who posted these reviews actually stayed in this splendid hotel or a cheap and nasty hostel.
The hotel was fine, pleasant reception staff booked us into our room which was superb ,light and airy with comfortable beds, flat screen TV ,clean bathroom and an all round fresh look and feel to the room.
Breakfast was delicious with a good choice of hot and cold offerings and superb juices and coffee plus a great range of herbal teas on offer.
Location could not be better being next to Termini train station and superb transport links to the city.
We had a great stay in here and we would not hesitate to stay here again and it's a hotel I would thoroughly recommend to any one visiting this gorgeous city.
The only thing that puts a damper on the stay is Rome's city tax laws and at €6 per person per night for our hotel ,most definitely the most expensive in Europe but it is what it is and you get on get on with it.
Very easy to locate on Via Die Mille by Termini Train Station and in the heart of Rome.

The hotel is very close to central station of Termini. From there you can take metro, bus or train. The staff was friendly but the room and lobby have old furniture. The breakfast was poor. The hotel is a three star and not 4 star.

Just one word: DIRTY. I'll try to write everything I remember, so that the next guests will be more cautious before booking this horrible hotel. Four of us arrived at 1 AM. We were really tired from travelling and wanted to get to bed as soon as possible but the reception guy didn't seem to be pleased that we disturbed him so late at night. He didnt even try to hide it.

We had booked two standard rooms , but didnt get them on the same floor, since , according to his words, there weren't any free rooms side by side. We were so exhausted , we just agreed right away.

But upon seeing our rooms... we experienced a real shock.
Rooms were terribly dirty, smelled horrible, sheets were full of male hair and spots, curtains were torn... we took lots of pictures as the proof and went down to lobby.
At first the reception guy ignored our request to change the room, when we refused ro sleep on those sheets. Then miraculously, out of thin air , just after ten minutes of our check-in, two rooms appeared to be free SIDE BY SIDE. We went to check them and were greeted by the same horrible situation. We refused to stay at that hotel and asked to refund the money or transfer us to another hotel. The reception guy just laughed at us and said we would get neither our money nor another accomodation so late at night and he wouldnt disturb the manager for us.

Eventually, We had to spend the whole night on the old dirty sofa in the LOBBY, where he came in several times and laughed at us. We were sleepy and hungry, couldnt even get the coffee from coffee machine, because it swallowed our coins.

In the morning, the manager came and didn't even acknowledge us, but spoke to our tour operator representative. Told her they would get the room ready and left without as much as looking in our direction. We waited AN HOUR AND A HALF for them to clean the room and even after that , they hadn't finished. Can you imagine how DIRTY it was? We didn't wait until they called us to check the rooms, we just left and spent next 3 hours in the street sitting on our bags.
It was such a horrible experience, that If it weren't for another amazing hotel where our tour operator had transferred us, I would say that I hated Rome.

After a recent stay by student tour group I can only advise you to stay away. Very dirty, mold in the bathrooms, no shower curtains in the students' rooms and water damaged doors. Extremely loud and the staff does not address concerns.
Reading some positive reviews makes me wonder if there are actually other rooms for other tourists or they are at a different hotel! Stay away! There are so many other choices at this allegedly 3 to 4 star level in Rome that are so much better than this hotel!
