Booked a triple room but there was not enough beds for more than two people. The third "bed" was folded in a chair that was supposed to become a bed when unfolded. Was not possible to sleep in due to a very thin mattress and a beam across somewhere in the middle. The hotel could not offer anything else until the next day. The solution became a improvised bed on the floor the first night. The next day we got something that was more like a bed(but not the same class a the other two beds). We were not compensated in any way for this.
There were also some positive experiences. Nice breakfast(in the room) served exactly on time. Good location.

Room Tip: Ok for max 2 pers.

We had a late checkin because we had a hard time looking for a place to stay (since not all hotels here in Rome has an English speaking attendees). The receptionist...AJAE as I recall the name..has been very accomodating..she made as feel really at home assisting us in everything we need after we all get wet under the rain during that cold December night... A very recommendable place and I can assure that I will deffenitely be back in this hotel ..

I am on a months working trip to Italy and took the opportunity to fly my wife out to Rome.
We booked the Target Inn as I had a good price, Free Wi-Fi and good looking rooms. On arrival we were greeted nicely at the main door and then shown to our room. The room was lovely and modern with comfy beds and flat screen TV (No English channels). The bathroom was also modern and cleaned to a good standard. Breakfast was delivered to the room at an agreed time. This consisted of coffee, Orange juice, croissant, fruit and yoghurts. Very Good!
The only thing that didn’t make me give this hotel 5 out of 5 was the locals outside.. Beeping their car horns and car alarms but hey.. That’s Rome!

I could not fault the Target Inn on anything and would recommend them to anyone that wants a holiday or short stop in Rome!

Comfortable room looking recently refurbished with modern facilities but at the same time keeping the character of the old building. Good location, 5min walk to the underground and 15min walk to the train station. Breakfast served to your room, quite basic but good enough, particularly given the reasonable hotel rates.
On the first night they had a mistake and gave us the junior suite room instead of the standard room that we had paid for. It is worth mentioning that the standard room was much noisier than the junior suite one, being the noises from reception and other rooms and floors clearly audible during the night.

Picked this hotel about much last-minute research on mostly Tripadvisor which was difficult given the number of hotels in Rome. Our priorities were location to the train station, cleanliness/safety, price, and service. Target Inn hit on most of these points.

First off, booked this hotel via Expedia and the hotel rates during the off-season very quite reasonable.

Location is only about 10-15 minutes walking from Roma Termini train station, but could take longer with heavier luggage, more foot traffic, getting lost without directions, etc. In retrospect, there is great convenience because the Rome subway system is easy to understand (not many lines to deal with) and there is a subway/metro stop about 2 minutes walking from the hotel which I considered to be a plus. This metro stop, Republica, is one stop away from Roma Termini making it convenient for traveling to other lines.

Hotel is on the third floor and options are multiple flights of stairs or a tiny elevator with a bit of charm, but slightly inconvenient due to its style, esp with bigger luggage. Hotel is near Via Nazionale with many shops, grocery store about 8 minutes walking distance, McDonalds nearby, ATM within 1 minute, and overall seemed to be safe enough around the area although a bit noisy at all hours of the night (at least from our room which overlooked Via Modena. Walking distance from sights is not bad although taking the subway out to certain locations and walking back may be a good strategy.

Room was clean, modern-looking, and fairly spacious including a cabinet for hanging clothes, room safe (actually fit my 10" netbook with a little arranging), two chairs, and free wifi which was the fastest and most reliable wifi of the hotels we stayed at during our 2 week trip through Paris and Italty. Shower had decent pressure and most of the time seemed to have adequate temperature control although there were a few instances where it briefly got too cold or too warm. No tissue box and the toilet paper allowance got low at one point. As we came during the winter off-season, we got some instruction on using our room A/C unit, however its heating abilities did not seem to work well despite leaving it on for at least 10 minutes to warm up according to the front desk (we left it on for 30+ minutes, no luck, so just turned it off). I suspect if it were summer, perhaps the A/C function might work better. Sufficient room plugs and a nice extra shutter for the window. As stated before, room was noisy from foot and car traffic at all hours of the evening, so bring some earplugs. Not sure if this varied elsewhere.

Breakfast is served to your room which is a nice convenience. They were flexible with choices and tried very hard to accomodate. Seemed to be a bit on the sweeter side, but included ham/prosciutto, bread, glazed croissant, yogurt, fruit juice, and coffee/tea/water. Overall, thought it was a nice touch. Our last morning we had to leave before breakfast, however they were able to accomodate us with a special tray which we appreciated.

Service was mostly good, but not outstanding (I say this on degrees of positivity versus negativity). They were overall helpful with directions and information for tourist sites, however just did not have the "service above expectations" attitude that we'd experienced at some other hotels in Italy. (i.e. further recommendations for dinner other than Target Inn's own restaurant in the area although they did direct us to the supermarket and a small pizzeria for snacks). One evening, we did have a gentleman who apparently was working his first day and thus had to call his co-worker for basic information regarding travel options to the airport, nearest ATM, etc. He was very helpful and apologetic and I feel it is more responsibility on the management to train their front desk staff (prior to starting work) to answer basic questions which any tourist is expected to ask. To his credit, he did call back to our room later and provide a different ATM location that he felt was safer and closer.

Overall, I suspect it is difficult in a larger city to get the best of all worlds. Target Inn is certainly an adequate hotel (given a good price point) for its location to a nearby metro stop, cleanliness, included in-room breakfast and amenities, quite functional free wifi, and the willingness of the staff to help. However, if you are looking for exceptional service with above-average knowledge of local restaurants/etc, other options may be available. I would consider staying here again if visiting Rome and the price were right.

Me and my wife stayed at this fantastic hotel, 3 nights before we boarded our cruise and 3 nights after our cruise. It is very close to everything - museums, Termini station, shopping strips especially Via Nazionale. You can practically walk to everything around it - Trevi fountain, jog to and from Villa Borghese. The staff is very helpful and no unreasonable request is refused. They are very knowledgeable about everything from booking our tickets at the Borghese Museum, St. Peter's Basilica, the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel.
They even helped us find a church that conducts mass in English and Pilipino! The hotel is tucked and hidden from the main traffic, so you can sleep soundly after a day and night long walks. Room is very clean and it has cable TVs (We were upgraded to the junior suite, which is relatively huge!). The other two rooms that we were able to stay were comfortable, roomy and with safe deposit boxes. Breakfast is included and what you see on their website is what you get. As I said, you can request for something else if you don't like what is being offered. Since both of us are vegetarians, we asked for some special meals, e.g porridge and fruits like bananas. It was gladly provided. There is a restaurant as well on the ground floor of the building and you get 10 per cent discount if you tell them that you are booked at Target Inn. The food and wine is good! The only regret we have is we didn't stay long enough to explore other parts of Rome and Italy during our stay. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience staying in this hotel. I highly recommend it!
