“Cheap, good location, but only okay for 1 night”
Reviewed 13 January 2010

Its location just across the Termini station made it convenient for traveler who arrives late in Rome. The hotel's sign was too small. We locate the hotel by noticing the numbers of the nearby buildings. It has a small cage-like lift. It is too small, but better than nothing.

The receptionist was available only by appointment. We had to mention what time we would check in, otherwise there would be nobody in the reception. The receptionist was a nice guy.

We stayed there only for 1 night. The room that we chose had private bathroom, with king size bed. In general, the room and the bed sheet was quite clean. It is also spacious. Simple interior, oldies furniture, but okay. Our room was not facing the street, hence it is quiet enough.

The bathroom looked fine, although quite slippery. Luckily I brought my own rubber sandals. The minus point was that the toilet could not be flushed. The toilet's flush was not strong enough. Moreover, there was no bucket provided to help flushing the toilet.

I could find few small insects on the room floor. I think they are harmless. Probably coming from the some cracks between the floor tile. The breakfast was really poor. We were given a breakfast coupon redeemable at the next door coffee shop. The breakfast was only a brioche (croissant) with an option of a glass of juice or a cup of cappuccino.

We plan to check out in the morning, yet we could not find anybody to return the key. Hence, we decided to go for breakfast and go around the town before coming back to check out in the afternoon.

To me, it was okay if you only need a place to sleep for 1 night, considering its cheap rate. If you want to stay longer, you might want to stay at better place.

Stayed Oct 9-11
Location – crossroad from railway station: not quiet, criminal surrounding. 6th floor, elevator works until 11 p.m.
Cleanliness – dirty walls, mould around the tank, and unpleasant smell in the bathroom. However, the bed linen is white and fresh, towels changed every day.
Facilities – room is pretty small, no refrigerator (was included in our room-price), TV did not work, and conditioner was turn on only after pressing ask. No access to Internet.
Service – personal practically did not speak English. Breakfast (donut and tiny cup of coffee) at the nearby café.
Value – not match the service. Definitely I don’t recommend that place to stay.

Rented this place because it was the cheapest and looked pretty nice. Also the location is pretty awesome. It's literally RIGHT across the street from the Rome Termini. Let's see, to sum it up--

Good things:
It was clean, but very worn.
Nice owners (the guy speaks good enough English, the lady-not so much, better whip out your Italian!).
They give you a ticket to go next door to the Travel Cafe and get a free orange juice or cappuccino, and a croissant of your choice-the people are nice there and speak English.
It's very affordable!
There is air.

Not so good things:
Bed was NOT comfortable, I felt the springs to my back.
The room was very small, as was the bathroom.
TV really tiny and only showed static-y Italian channels.
IF you use credit or debit, they charge you 3.5% extra!
There's like 5 stories of stairs to get to it, they do have an elevator but it's one of those really old ones you have to call, and if someone didn't shut the door upstairs, it won't come :( On your way up the stairs, you will find some lovely trash, a broken toilet, a thrashed up door, and some unpotted plants. Very nice touch.
Shower is not good, hot water is sparse!
The view is the WORST! You're looking at an enclosed space between you and some other building that is covered in filth, also VERY loud neighbours and maybe some dying cats and chickens. Really weird.

I stayed in room 22. Take it as you see it, I guess.
