Description: One of the best restaurants in Rome, if not in Italy, La Pergola is much more than just a famous menu. Its three-Michelin stars - the only Rome restaurant to be accorded such an honour - attest to the excellence of its cuisine. A wine cellar with over 53,000 bottles, a water menu with 29 choices, olive oils and vintage balsamic vinegars from the best producers in Italy, and the finest ingredients to be sourced in the Mediterranean -- all attest to the pursuit of culinary excellence. In the last decade the major Italian gastronomic guides such as L'Espresso, Gambero Rosso, Bibenda have consistently voted La Pergola the "Best Restaurant of Rome" and one of the best in Italy. Since November 2005 the Michelin Guide has honoured La Pergola with 3 stars and 5 forks, symbol of exceptional cuisine and "worth a special journey". Furthermore, the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences has awarded La Pergola with the coveted "Five Star Diamond Award!" Each year the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences, renowned worldwide, bestows its coveted International STAR DIAMOND AWARD exclusively on five star establishments that are deemed to be of pinnacle quality by its esteemed Board of Trustees. The award is the most prestigious emblem of achievement and true quality: an award many strive for, but few obtain.

“Worst 3-star Michelin experience ever !!!”
Reviewed 31 March 2012

We looked very much forward to have dinner in La Pergola, well-known as one of Rome's best restaurants. The location is superb, on the roof of Roma with the most beautiful view you can imagine. But the Food and the Service were both so so so POOR !! really not what 3 Michelin star should be. The food was just nothing special and a few courses we really disliked. The service was lacking. Before our main course they asked us already which dessert we would like to have, but we told them in the beginning of the evening when we placed our order, that we wanted to decide AFTER our main if we would like to have anything else. The whole experience - except from the view - was a big disappointment, especially for my partner who surprised me on my birthday with a very very special dinner in a great restaurant.... NOT !!!

“Best dining experience ever”
Reviewed 24 March 2012

Highlight of our honeymoon! Service was impeccable, food even better. Cant even begin to explain how amazing EVERYTHING was! Each of the 9 courses from the tasting menu was a delicious surprise. Choice of waters/oils/salts were also impressive. Views were spectacular in light/dusk/dark. Cashmere shawl and stool for my wife's handbag were the finishing touches on our greatest ever meal. Can't recommend highly enough!

“A great dinner in the sky”
Reviewed 24 March 2012

We(me and my wife) have a tradition on our anniversary we choose to visit a wonderful restaurant to celebrate the day we were married in this case 29/5, been doing that for a while. In 2009 we went to La Pergola for the second time , was there first time in 2008 march(rather cold in Rome) so we sat inside.
In 2009 the weather was fantastic, we sat outside and almost looked into the sky, while we had all these fantastic and very innovative dishes, combined with delicious water and a selection of Italian wines, in the end of the meal a special cake with a candle was lit and a celebration song was performed by some of the staff, the most memorable moment for us so far.
A true romantic evening in the sky, if you really want to be in that mood, this is the place to go.

“Outstanding. Lived up to its reputation .Worth every cent.”

I flew my adult family and partners to Rome, from Australia, for an anniversary celebration .La Pergola was planned as the highlight. I was unsure what the meal would cost , as the reviews were confusing .We all had the degustation menu with Italian wines selected by us and the helpful sommelier. It was an amazing and unforgettable experience.
The cost was about 350 Euro per person .We could have spent more by selecting French wines but we were there for the Italian experience.
By the way the Hotel Roma Cavalieri is fantastic. One of the nicest places I have ever stayed in ,and only about a 10 minute taxi ride to the Colosseum.
