The Sistine Chapel is amazing. We bought skip the line tickets - a must in the August heat. We are a family with children aged 9 and 12. I bought the adult audio guide for us and the 12 year old and the child's one for my youngest daughter. The adult audio guide was boring. It explained in detail about the building of the Popes who built the rooms the art is in but not much about the art. The child's guide was fascinating - we all took turns listening to it. And upon leaving, it was the 9 year old who knew more about the history, social/political and artistic context of the works we had seen than any of us.
