I probably had one of the best fresh pasta dishes of my life there, with fish. Excellent tortellinis with cream and some very fine desserts. I regret the fact that organic wines were not available and that although the theme is football, the deco isn't a little more exciting. Good place to have lunch or dinner in private. Service is as good as it gets, very personal.

Excellent food, especially the tortellini freshly made by the mother. The restaurant is spacious and if a soccer fan, there are good chances of meeting a player. We met coach Donadoni and Cannavaro. The food is excellent with a good selection of local wines

A local spot made famous by the owner, an ex soccer player. Food was nearly perfect, a primo of 3 small mounds of pasta on a large flat plate; tortellone with ricotta and sage butter sauce, tortellini with meat filling and egg cream sauce, tagliatelle with Bolognese ragù. (The tagliatelle were a bit too al dente) Secondo was vitello alla Bolognese; a large half inch piece of veal with a thin layer of prosciutto covered in melted fresh mozzarella and drizzled with cream (ultra fattening cholesterol nightmare!) Everything tasted just right, even the veal was surprisingly light and savory. Sadly, there was no room left for a proper dessert, though they brought out some brownie squares, assorted biscuits, and pie pieces.
The location is frequented by famous soccer players, there was one behind our table with his young family, which I only discovered when some diners requested a photo with him.

This restaurant is away from the tourist areas and is popular with locals, not just because the owner was a famous football player in Bologna, but because the food is very good. The menu is local/regional, so has a bias towards meat, and the pasta dishes are excellent - you may even see Signori's mum making pasta near the entrance of the restaurant! The staff were very helpful in translating the menu and explaining what each dish involved. The place gets very busy, so it is beat to book.

You won't find this place overrun by tourists, no menu in English, but plenty of old-school dishes from the region. Lots of meat, grilled vegetables, fantastic potatos, pasta and risotto to die for. Nice pastries for dessert and nocciola--a dark nutty liqueur that will haunt your dreams. The waiters take their jobs seriously; there was one slip-up with our order. Tradition and soccer reign here.
