“Just right!”

The apartment is fresh, spotlessly clean, uncluttered and comfortable. It's quietly situated on the first floor of a villa in a secluded, leafy enclave just a stone's throw off Via Saragozza, one of the principal routes into Bologna. The surrounding neighbourhood is attractive, with numerous small shops of various kinds, as well as cafes and trattorias; and while there are frequent, regular bus services along Via Saragozza, the city centre is easily walkable in 15 - 20 minutes, or, should you want, as I did, to travel beyond, the train station in around half an hour. Parma, Modena and Ravenna are all readily accessible by train, as indeed is Florence - just 35 minutes away on the high speed Freccia Rossa.

Michelle, the owner, who lives on the floor above with her daughter, Helene, takes care to anticipate guests' needs pretty thoroughly: a folder of information about the apartment, neighbourhood, city etc; store cupboard staples; some basics in the fridge; and even, in the absence of a washing machine, the offer of a laundry service. She and/or Helene, are, though, on hand to supplement if occasion arises - as it did for me. Thank you Helene! Sadly, I didn't meet Michelle who was away at the time of my stay, but there was so much that I didn't have time to do, and the apartment and its setting were just so attractive that I can't imagine not returning; so, maybe next time!

“Lovely flat with amazing hostest”
Reviewed November 29, 2014 for a stay in November 2014

We spent three nights in this flat and very much enjoyed our stay. We arrived late after train strikes and Michelle and Helene were there to greet us. The flat is well appointed, lovely and clean and an easy bus ride into the historic centre though you can also walk which we did several times. Michelle had also kindly stocked the fridge and pantry with some basics which we were so grateful for, it made our stay much more pleasant.

“Classy, comfortable apartment & kind, attentive hostess”

Why Bologna? our friends asked. Because it's the culinary heart of Italy, a vibrant and interesting city where we felt safe on the streets, wandered for hours at a time under the many beautiful porticoes (covered sidewalks), and ate meals so memorable it was hard to leave. We initially thought we would use Bologna as a base for day trips to other nearby towns, but we found so much to do in Bologna, we never left until we got on our plane to come home.
My husband and I have rented apartments in several major European cities, and Casa Corsica was absolutely the best we've ever rented. The apartment is on the first floor (second floor for us North Americans), in a 4-story building in a nice neighborhood, with a well-kept private garden courtyard. The location felt secure and secluded, yet was only a few steps from the bus stop to the historic center.
Michelle, the owner, lives upstairs, and is attentive, kind, and very helpful. She was there to welcome us and show us around the apartment. On the table was a bowl of fresh fruit and a homemade lemon cake, and the fridge was thoughtfully stocked with morning essentials (eggs, milk, butter, mineral water, yogurt, cookies, bread and jams). There is a wonderful Nespresso coffee machine, and capsules were supplied, as well as coffee and equipment for other methods.
Location is ideal, 10 minutes by bus to the historic center, 20-30 minutes by foot, and easy to navigate. Bus stop is just a few steps away from the apartment.
The apartment has four rooms -- LR, BR, kitchen and bath, and all rooms can be closed off from each other for privacy. It is newly renovated, fresh, immaculate, and tastefully appointed. Large windows open onto a beautifully tended, peaceful garden. This is a classy, comfortable place.

“Perfect for a traveller looking to expereince the real Bologna”

I stayed at Casa Corsica for three weeks while working and vacationing in Bologna. The apartment was immaculately cleaned, safe, and comfortable. Despite charging much less than a hotel the price included a maid service, laundry, and some great amenities (like a courtyard to use for relaxing, and some extra food and condiments stocked in the kitchen). The landlord was very pleasant in my dealings with her and made me feel at home (she recommended some great restaurants to visit, so if you have a moment ask her!). The apartment is about a twenty-minute walk from the center of the city, and easily accessible to public transportation- the bus stops right in front of the apartment. Would certainly stay there if visiting again.
