I have stayed there for two weeks mixed feelings about the hotel. I will start with advantages as I can see more of pros than cons. First of all, location cannot be better, local shops around, 1 min to the main square, perfect restaurants around. You can simply feel the city just opening the window (it is a bit noisy than but it is part of the experience). Secondly, I had some special requests regarding the invoice and electric kettle, everything was perfectly handled and I got some small discount. Thus, receptionists are very kind and helpful, making stay definitely enjoyable. Finally, bed was comfortable, room was quite clean and cozy, Internet on the second floor was pretty fast.

Unfortunately, there are some things that should be done better for 100 EUR per night. The biggest and most important problem regards to breakfast. It was supposed to be provided starting from 8, but it happens that around 8 nothing was prepared and the lady was just starting to organize things. Another thing is quality, one cake was provided for the whole week, there were days it was hardly possible to find something to eat (fruits only occasionally, croissants sometimes hot sometimes old, only toast style bread, average coffee), and service was just terrible (one gentlemen went to the service room and help lady bringing things because he couldn't stand watching it). Those are little things but quite annoying and unfortunately prevent me from staying again in this hotel (I am visiting Bologna each year). Also room service was a bit strange, sometimes towels leaved on the hanger were changed, sometimes not. Toiletries were not always provided. But those are little things, room was always clean and nicely prepared. The last issue regards to the smell from the toilet that appears each morning.

To sum up, those little things are so easy to improve and will make Your hotel perfect place to stay. Especially breakfast issues should be addressed. Otherwise, guests will not be fully satisfied. Make use of perfect location and improve a bit :) But, all together thank You for a very pleasant stay, kind service and any help!

The location of this hotel is excellent being very close to Piazza Maggiore and the two towers of Bologna. Also an easy 20 minute stroll to Bologna Central Station. The street is a busy thoroughfare with lots of trendy stores that create a very Bolognese atmosphere.
Our room was comfortable and clean and all the staff were very pleasant. We would certainly book there again.

I chose this hotel after reading the reviews in the New York Times and some other British newspapers. It lived up to my expectations based on their review.

It is a family run hotel situated in the Quadriletto district of Bologna, It is within walking distance to Piazza Maggiore, museums, and churches. In addition it is walking distance to great restaurants and shopping.

The hotel is very quaint and in a historical building. It is clean, had a comfortable bed (did not aggravate my lower back), equipped with AC which I needed during the end of June. The breakfasts were also delicious especially the desserts which sometimes were baked by the owner. Reminded me of my mother's baking.

The staff is courteous, friendly, and willing to go out of their way to help. There are a few stairs to walk up to reception but if you need help the staff will be there.

I would stay here again.

Very well situated next to Piazza Maggiore. The staff is very polite and service-minded. Nice room and price-quality is really good. Next time we will be visiting Bologna we'll surely make reservation here again!

If you're looking for a hotel with plenty of character, this is one for you. Brilliant location close to Piazza Maggiore with plenty of great eating options close by. The hotel is clean, beds very comfortable and staff friendly. It is in a small laneway so the taxi had to drop us 50m away and we had to carry the bags up to level 1 reception, not a problem for us but something to consider. Cant recommend it more highly.
