“A wonderful place to stay”
Reviewed 25 August 2011

Lovely, lovely hotel. Gracious warm staff. I loved having a kitchen. It had all of the essentials. Wonderful breakfast. After a month in Europe, coming to Hotel Albero Nascosto felt like coming home.

When i arrived in Trieste, i knew virtually nothing about the city. My train was late, i was in desperate need of food, etc. The Albero Nascosto provided a warm welcome to the city. My room was quiet and well-kept, with a large modern bathroom and a little private porch. The staff provided me with a map, and a quick guide to what was where, and recommended several restaurants in the neighborhood. The restaurants were all excellent. The morning breakfast was also excellent, and the hotel had a wonderful library of art and design books that were a great resource. The price for all this was about half of what i had paid for a smaller room in Venice. i hope to be back soon, and would recommend this place to all my friends.

Great place to stay for work or for a holiday, great design and style, right in the centre of Trieste with public parking space nearby. The rooms are really nice and have a kitchen, great great place to stay.

We chose this hotel because of its car parking facility and central location. We were not disappointed by our choice. This is a superb little hotel set in one of Trieste's winding streets and only a very short walk from the centre. The standard of decoration and amenities is extremely high. Our room was large and very well appointed - could be noisy with the windows open mainly because the narrow street seemed to amplify every sound - but, traffic noise generally died down before midnight. Of course you could just close the double-glazed windows!!. Breakfast was very good, simple but with a very good range. The staff were wonderful - very welcoming and helpful. The place exudes warmth and intimacy and we have no hesitation in recommending it and we would be very happy to stay there again.

They gave us room at 3 floor but it was like having someone jumping on the head because of a very thin pavement. People staying on the 4th floor were just moving and walking and our room trembled at every single step, windows included! We did complain they were sorry and made us something like 15 euros discount! Maybe they've underestimated the discomfort!

My wife and I were very happy with this charming hotel. The location is perfect, the accommodations very good in all respects and -- most memorably -- all four of the employees we had contact with during our two-day stay were extremely kind and helpfull. We would certainly stay here on another visit to Trieste.

The previous reviewer says it all. The Albero Nascosto is a special place with wonderful attention to detail. We loved the ambience and the warm welcome given to us by the owner, his family and staff. It made all the difference to our stay in Trieste, which in itself a 'hidden' treasure. Please read Jan Morris' book before going - it adds to the experience. We even got to experience the amazing wind that is the Bora. Trieste is an unexpected delight and this hotel adds to the experience. We stayed in the Gelso (mulberry) room, which as it faced the inner well was completely silent - amazing as the hotel front faces a tiny but busy street. Thank you to Giulio and Claudia for all your tips including amazing restaurant recommendations.
