Much has been said here about the fabulous menu, cuisine and experience at Mika. Our dinner choices were unique, well executed and professionally served. We had a few opportunities to be front and center to view the amount of activity and attention the restaurant receives and how they handle it. It is in a prominent location and gets a lot of positive reviews so visitors to the area (who come for 3-4 days max) are supposed with their attempts to be fair and efficient as they accommodate as many as possible. They are barraged by surprised tourists who assume they can be squeezed in to the smallish establishment. They attempt to be organized and can sometimes seem impersonal but I can only imagine how difficult to satisfy everyone for both lunch and dinner servings every day. The visitors turn over but the staff does not.
We had a wonderful meal but sat right next to the entrance and watched the drama play out. And that was only over 2 days.
I will mention that the restaurant opens and they do not begin seating anyone until 7 pm so there is a line. Then they fill the restaurant in one shot seating walkins and then later reservations when the table turn over after about 8. I don’t know how the kitchen turns out the beautiful meals they do when everyone orders at once but they do.
Well worth the visit!
