This hotel is reviewed as adequate to the price by most of the travellers. I disagree with this opinion. I payed 65 euro for a small room with a minuscule "built-in" bathroom.
The furniture is very old, there is dust in the corners. The toilet was not perfectly clean and the bathroom fan is so noisy that is is better to stay with the light off.
As clearly stated there is no breakfast, there is internet, the single bed is 1,5 half place. The position is not so bad, 500 meters from Brignole. It might be a good position for the Engineering school on a budget. That's all.

The room which myself and my partner stayed in, was good for all intense purposes. The decor was prints and original paintings but colour co ordinatination and interior design was poor.

The room had a double bed (two singles together on a double frame) it had a wardrobe with hangers inside as well. Beside the bed had matching bedside cabinets and plastic bedside lamps. There was a shower in our room with heavenly hot water, but not very well designed.

No coffee or tea making fascilities in the room, however there was a kitchen at the reception side to make tea or coffee, but ask at the reception first just to double check.

It also had a small fridge for soft drinks, alcohol, juices, and bottled water (With and without sparkles) the prices ranged from three euros for a can of coke and one euro for bottled water.

The staff at the hotel were very helpful especially one girl with blonde hair (Local) who spoke the perfect of english and was extremely helpful. Technically she was our mobile information booth.

For morning coffees for the day after your arrival there are numerous cafe bar's and bakeries which open very early. Our favourite morning hangout was a cafe called " Bon Ton Bar" (Direction - walk up to buzzer gate at hotel, turn right and last shop on right hand side) it sold eveything you want ranging from Croissants, choco au pan, pannini's and maxi toasts.

If you smoke, there are vending machines selling cigarettes on every street near enough, also the newagents are called Tabbacchi (Black sign - White T)

We went to Genoa on a budget and spent wisely and were pleasantly suprised upon return to the UK that we had not spent as much as we thought. If you are not fussed and want a clean and friendly place to sleep with a good bed and a steaming hot shower, this is the place for you.

Room tip: Ask for a room with an outside view rather than a view of the opposite room on the other side of the hotel. If you are bothered about using a communal shower or toilet, ask for on en suite.

The rooms are very dated, with furniture that needs replacing. The bathrooms also need sorting out, although plenty of hot water.

If I could suggest a simple improvement, it would be for a kettle and cups to be supplied in each room.

The staff here were great, and really helpful! One of the girls who works here, speaks excellent English and always had a smile.

Overall I would say the Hotel is in a decent area, very central, not too noisey and safe. The Hotel is also very clean!

I would reccommend this hotel to anyone on a budget, who want to stay for a short time.

We booked two double rooms and they upgraded our shared bathroom double to one with a private bathroom. The room stunk of smoke (despite no smoking signs) and we had to air the room out during the day. The bathroom door did not lock either. We had an air conditioner that we used as it was incredibly hot in Genoa but it was very noisy and didn't really work that well either. On the plus the room was cheap and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

Room tip: Choose this if you really need something in Genoa urgent, like the day you arrive.

We got upgraded from a shared bathroom to a private bathroom but the room stunk of smoke and was noisy. No AC and bathroom door didn't lock. About a 30 min walk to the old town but could catch a bus if wanted to.

Wish we had stayed another night in the Cinque Terre but the hotel was ok for the price.
