I was there one night on a business trip. The room was nice, with decorated ceiling, very clean and super silent. A small amenity kit (shower gel /shampoo etc) was in the bathroom, quite unexpected for a hotel rated 2 stars.
Also the breakfast was very good, with fresh croissants...
Definitely to recommend

Despite the fact that this is a two stars hotel this is fairly decent.

Only drawback is the shower cubicle. Really really really tiny and not much room to move around so if you are fat then don’t bother!

It is up on the fourth floor and the lift is very quaint.

Breakfast is adequate.

Should consider this as a decent pad to rest weary heads

The hotel was very well situated being close to the metro and the bus. Nearby are plants of restaurants and bars. The entry to the hotel was not very exciting and we wondered if we were at the right place. The little antique lift was fascinating. We revived a very warm welcome and were advised about local restaurants and other things to do and placed to go. They actually booked a couple of restaurants for us - both were excellent and inexpensive. The rooms are not overly big but were very clean and comfortable. Fresh bottles of water were offered free of charge every day. The bathroom was also small but big enough. Breakfast was included in the price and had a great selection of meat, cheese and pastries. Fruit was offered and there was a selection of tea and coffee. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Don’t be put off by the 2-star rating. Lovely clean, comfortable rooms. Friendly staff. TV. Free wi-fi. Basic continental breakfast but perfectly good, with plenty of choice.
Very well placed for all that Genoa has to offer. Can be a bit noisy outside but the double glazing deals with that and the air-con keeps the room just right.
Recommended.

We truly loved our time at this boutique simple hotel. The rooms are small but very efficiently furnished with modern conveniences and extras.

Pros:
- great staff. The young manager checked us in and provided us all the details for our visit to Genova including where to eat (check out my Locanda Tortuga review). He was very attentive and patient.
- although small for North American standards room was spotlessly clean and well appointed with 12’ painted ceilings.
- free wifi & safe in room,
- air conditioning and windows that open wide to let in air.
- breakfast was very good. Quality ham, cheeses, croissants, pastries, fruit and coffee.
- tv & satellite with English Speaking Netflix.
- location is ideal for walking the narrow streets of Genova, eating, drinking and people watching. Centre of town is perfect.
- value of room is exceptional for location.
- fridge in room with free bottles of water and only 2€ for beer or cokes. There is also a kettle and cups and of course a cork screw.
- amenities are funny (2 shower caps, 2 shampoos and um, 2 packs of lube - you are in Italy after all)
- elevator - ancient but gets you there without using stairs.

Information:
- although easy to find the address you will be stumped when you walk up to the building. You will see a sign that says ‘Hotel Genova’ in large letters and if you look very closely you will seen ‘Liberty’ in very small letters. When you walk into the building (which is being renovated and noisy during the day at the time of this review) you will again see a sign on the building menu for Hotel Genova and in small letters you will see 4 piano which means 4th floor. Beside the internal sign there is an ancient metal open elevator on your left. Hit the button to call it - open the metal grate and 2 doors and squish yourselves and your suitcases into the small European elevator space. Close the doors - and push for floor #4. Once you arrive on floor #4 go to the right and you will see the door to the hotel. Remember to close both sets of doors or the elevator won’t work for anyone else calling it.
- taxi from airport is a rip off. There is a surcharge of 7€ each passenger and a total fixed price of 40€ to the city centre.
- lots of shopping and only half a block from the Barcelona store Desigual which apparently is a favourite of Americans and Europeans alike.
