“Awsome awsome and a little bit more awsome”
Reviewed October 17, 2014 for a stay in October 2013

I know I am late with this review but I have only recently began to leave comments on places I have stayed and this place was totally worth the stay and a review. I stayed here for 3 nights and we loved every minute. We were a little hesitant at first as we were described this location as being above the bar however the bar is a resturant and it is really next door. There is no noise issues as it is really a sleep little town. The room was more than spacious and the laundry machine was a well deserved treat. The resturant has the best breakfast view on the lake. The owners are a great couple and if you have any questions about what to do, don't hesitate to ask for advise. I tell all my friends they need to go to lake como and that they need to stay here. when we go back we will be staying here.

“Beautiful Varenna”
Reviewed September 3, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We changed our plans and stayed at Varenna instead of Bellagio and so glad we did.
Divina Vita is right on the lake our room had a little balcony overlooking it and it was all we expected. Simone and Silvia were the perfect hosts and made us feel very welcome. The room has a spiral staircase to the bedroom which did not worry us. Breakfast was in the restaurant which us part of the B&B and you were able to enjoy the lake view while having breakfast . Would certainly go back to Varenna

“Exceptional Indeed”
Reviewed August 15, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

After much research we decided to spend our 3 nights in the Italian Lakes at Divina Vita, partly because of the “exceptional” rating on booking.com. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but all in all this was our favorite place of our 19-night trip, which included luxury hotels in Paris and London and a Grand Canal view in Venice. I pride myself on finding great places to stay but my wife kept repeating that I outdid myself this time. Not only is the location idyllic, with our balcony overlooking the lake, in Varenna the ideal mid-lake place to stay IMHO, but Simone and his wife Sylvia the proprietors were the reason this place is exceptional. They were so warm and welcoming, treating us like honored guests, that we instantly felt at home there. When we arrived Simone greeted us with fruit drinks and snacks and gave us lots of information about Varenna, the area, and the apartment. The apartment was perfect for us- clean, comfortable, plenty of room for 2, great view, excellent AC, and a kitchen with espresso machine. The apartment is upstairs in the building next door to the bar/restaurant they run (Il Bar Molo), which has a prime location on the lake and is a great place to eat and/or drink. The breakfast included omelets, croissants and fresh fruit and was by far the best breakfast we had on our whole trip. Simone built this amazing little spa downstairs with a sauna, cold plunge pool and Jacuzzi, which is available for an additional fee. They light it up with a bunch of candles and it is very romantic for couples.
It was our anniversary and on the last night Simone and Sylvia invited us to have drinks with them and then they brought out this large paper lantern for us and we lit the candle on the bottom launching it up into the sky over the lake to celebrate our anniversary. It was so touching.
Lake Como is beautiful and I look forward to going back. I feel very fortunate that I chose this place to stay. Simone and Sylvia really made our visit so special, and we look forward to seeing them again.
Exceptional indeed.

“Divine Divina is a must to stay at in Varenna”
Reviewed July 22, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Stayed for two nights at the Divina and thought it was fantastic.Simone and Sylvie the owners were delightful and did everything to make our stay perfect, great hosts who try to think of everything to make your stay an enjoyable one. They also own Bar Molo and the gelateria and we breakfasted on the terrace directly overlooking the lake which was a fabulous experience. The mixed fruit salad was wonderful and the selection offered for breakfast was plentiful and good quality. The apartment had everything ,even two umbrellas at the door and waterproofs hanging in the wardrobe for those days when the weather turns- as it did on our third day! The veranda directly overlooked the lake and it was lovely to sit there early evening with a glass of wine watching the world go by.If you have difficulty climbing steps there are a few to get up to the apartment but then again Varenna has many steps so I guess people going there would be aware of that. We walked from the station with cases and it takes about 15 minutes but there are taxis from the centre if you prefer not to walk. We hired sunbeds and an umbrella at the Lido which is by the ferry stop and half a day cost 3 euros - great value especially as there were changing rooms, showers, loos, snack bar and access to swimming in the lake. Both restaurants we ate in were good quality at reasonable prices. With pizzas starting at 6 euros and meat /fish dishes averaging at around 15 euros there is something for everyone. Varenna is well placed to explore the lake by ferry and the train station makes for easy access, we travelled from Milan in an hour for 6 euros. I can't wait to return.

“Fully Endowed with Hospitality”

My wife and I spent 3 nights in the charming town of Varenna. We were so closed to booking a hotel but instead decided to stay at Divina Vita. It is one of the best decision so far on our 3 week European holiday. After three nights in the beautiful but busy Venice, the peaceful and serene atmosphere of Varenna in Simone and Silvia's apartment was perfect. From the moment we set foot at their bar Il Molo we were welcomed by Silvia and given, aside from a cool and refreshing drink, an introduction of the area by Simone. The wonderfully furnished apartment itself was spotless and had all that we needed and more of what we normally would expect from a hotel. The very comfortable beds are on the upper level, accessed by a spiral staircase which added to its appeal. The bathroom, equipped with a washing machine, is a joy for its cleanliness. Adding to its charm is the balcony with a great view of Lake Como. Breakfast was served in front of the lake, what a romantic experience. My wife just can not get enough. We did not dine at Il Molo but did so on both of Simone's recommendations. Quatro Pass has delicious and ample portion of the lake fish Risotto. Cavallino Ristorante was the other one.

After our third night we had a very early train to catch the next morning, what was significant is breakfast came prepared to us that evening (Thanks to Simone and Silvia). It was just what we needed that morning since we had a long trip to Chamonix. Our next visit to Varenna would not be complete without staying at the Divina Vita Bed & Breakfast, fully endowed with its owners' hospitality.

“Outstanding!”
Reviewed July 4, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We stayed three nights at the end of June. The apartment was just as pictured, right on he water and with a beautiful view from the balcony. It was both clean and very comfortable. The hosts, as well as the staff at their restaurant next door, Bar Il Milo, were friendly and helpful. I think the listing should better be in the "bed and breakfast" section, as the included breakfast, served in the restaurant, was absolutely the best. We had several other meals there as well and were very happy with the food and the service. We have no hesitation in recommending Divina Vita.

“Lovely B&B on Lake Como in Varenna!”

Stayed at this apartment with 2 friends in May. What a lovely place run by the friendly Simone and Silvia!

From the moment we arrived, we were taken care of. A welcome drink along with information about Varenna and Lake Como as well as a tour of the apartment. It was clean and had everything we needed along with a balcony facing the lake.

Each morning, a table was reserved for us on the lake and breakfast was cooked to order. Eggs, bacon, toast, croissants, fruit, yogurt, tea/coffee and juice.

Tip: Wifi isn't as strong in the unit. Had to go out on the balcony to get a better signal. Signal was very strong in the bar/restaurant area where we ate breakfast.
