Rose House is spacious, comfortable, clean, and elegant. It’s a bit of a walk from the train station while pulling suitcases, but nicely located once you’re settled in – only a couple of minutes along the lane to San Giorgio Square, or a couple of minutes down the steps to the lake. You can reach the square by walking the lake shore promenade then climbing the steps in the old town area, or (as we did) following the Via Corrado Venini (road with cars) then branching onto the XX September lane (no cars).
Laura met us at the square after patiently rearranging her schedule to meet us two hours later than expected due to a delayed train connection. She led us to Rose House, gave us a tour, showed us some brochures on local activities, then suggested a few restaurants – it was a very nice welcome to the house and the town.
We enjoyed sunny weather here during early September which helped make this beautiful area one of the highlights of our trip.
