Thank you to the reception staf at Hotel du Parc for the excellent service we received throughout our stay. At the end of our wonderful holiday we were unfortunate and had our luggage and passports stolen en route to the airport, Laura was really kind and arranged for us to extend our stay whilst we had to wait over the Bank holiday weekend until the Embassy opened. Nothing was too much trouble and she went that extra mile in our hour of need. Bravo and Thank you all again

We went to a weeks vacation in Lake Garda. The staff ( waitresses, receptionist and cleaning staff) were so kind, including to our messy three year old. There was also a great pool and ping pong table to relax and entertain/ play with the kids. The breakfast is nice but the dinner is mouth watering. If you take dessert don’t miss the Mille feuille. Finally, Hotel Du Parc is well located and is in a walking distance to the beaches, the marina and the shuttle bus that takes you to the old city.

My Mum and I stayed at Hotel the Du Parc in Sirmione. We would totally recommend this hotel! The room was a good size, comfortable, clean, had a fridge, beverages, sky TV, a safe (free) and a balcony. The pool area was private and clean and there is the option to eat lunch outside at a tabled area nearby. The bar staff are lovely, ‘Nataly’ was particularly helpful...we recommend the cocktails! The restaurant food was an excellent standard, the head waiter was a lovely chap who was most obliging. The prices weren’t bad in comparison to the restaurants in the town centre. The hotel provides a free shuttle bus Mon-Fri into Sirmione (just over a mile away) but you must book it prior. Otherwise, the bus stop is a short walk from the hotel and only a couple of Euro’s there and back. You can buy tickets from a machine or on the bus. Be warned, even if there’s a queue, people just push in. This is ‘normal’ behaviour apparently. It’s something that happens literally everywhere in the area. So getting there early is advisable if you want a seat on a bus. Many restaurants in town include the tip already, check the bill first, we got caught out initially and over tipped. The town centre provides free wifi too which is handy. Sirmione is stunning and feels very medieval. There is a ferry that drops off at various towns around the lake throughout the day. We visited two and recommend visiting Garda if you like quaint, Bardolino is nice too but more modern. We recommend a half hour boat trip around the peninsula and through the castle moat but be warned it can be choppy for 15 mins of the trip wave wise. Food prices in town average at 6-12 Euro’s per starter and 12-22 Euro’s per main. A bottle of wine averages about 13-20 Euros. There is a bus into Verona for about 5 Euro’s each way. The Arena de Verona is worth a visit early on to avoid too long queuing but just to warn it may be set up for a concert. The biggest piece if advice though is to wear a strong mosquito repellent and ankle/wrist band. I had to buy antihistamine cream too. Of my 29 countries, it’s in my top 5 for numerous, huge bite reactions. Hope these tips help. We would recommend the hotel and holiday destination.

We have just spent an excellent week at Hotel du Parc. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly, helpful and answered all our questions about the local area and transport. Our youngest, fussy teenage, son wasn’t terribly keen on the breakfast but personally I liked the selection of fresh fruit as well as the usual variety of cereals, pastries and cold meats. The swimming pool was a highlight, good size and never too busy. Comfy loungers and brollies for those that like some shade made for several relaxing mornings by the pool. Even though the situation of the hotel means a shuttle bus to the centre of Sirmione, or a 25 minute walk, it is in a quiet location with a good variety of restaurants nearby. My husband is a wheelchair user and the access around the hotel was good. The lift is small and there are steps up to the bar area but there is always a member of bar staff to come and take your order. Access to the pool is fine. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this lovely hotel.

We spent 10 days at the hotel and stayed on a half board basis.
Having stayed at a number of different hotels/ resorts, I would certainly suggest this is more 3 star than 4.
That said, it was by no means poor and ha lots of lovely features with not to many limitations.

Breakfast was good- lots of variety and choice. Options replenished frequently (unless you seem to go after 9.30am as breakfast finishes at 10am- so be aware if you’re a late me riser)
Evening meals were on good quality albeit a little repetitive. Salad bar was very good (although not always too much choice if you weren’t a keen fish eater, on some nights). First courses were generally very good too. Second courses provided us with potatoes, as the accompaniment, in a multitude of variations (but still potato every night).
Generally four choices of first and second course each night to choose from (meat, vegetarian, poultry, fish) and there weren’t too many occasions when there wasn’t an option either of us was keen on.
Menus rotate on a weekly basis so you do revisit the same menus if you stay longer than this.
Although we didn’t travel with children, I would suggest that the evening meals provide few options for children (especially those who are particular with their food choices)- we did see pizza being offered a couple of times but that seemed to be the only alternative and guests were told that it was of the frozen variety.

WiFi is very poor in the rooms and we used a great deal of data across the course of our stay- better in lobby and by the pool.

We stayed in an economy lake view room. Room was basic but comfortable. Rooms were cleaned very well everyday and offered a selection of toiletries that we were replenished daily also. Lake view wasn’t completely unrestricted but you could see it in the distance.

Sirmione ‘main’ area, where the ruins and castle lie is around a 30-40 minute walk. Buses were quite frequent and got you there in much less time (depending on tourist traffic). Other shops (supermarket, smaller shops) were within a 5-10 minute walk.

Pool was adequate but a little tired- some of the grouting around the top of the pool was a little worn. Generally a decent size, unless there were a lot of children around and then other guests have to dodge balls and younger swimmers playing.

Overall, we were happy with our stay.
