My partner and I spent a week at the AQVA in late July into early August and we can not speak highly enough of this hotel. Everything was fantastic from the standard of rooms to the service of the staff who really make this hotel special and standout from a lot of the exclusive hotels we have stayed in all around the world. The owners should be exceptionally proud of the staff and the job they do as they should be with themselves for creating such a tranquil and relaxing setting. This hotel needs to stay child free to keep with the character and perception that the hotel displays.

Thank you to all the staff who made our stay very very special. The two girls on reception are brilliant and made sure we were well looked after during our stay. Front of house staff are exemplary and a credit to the hospitality industry as is the wonderful chef who provided us with fantastic quality breakfast and lunches during our stay.

I can only assume negative reviews are malicious from competing hotels or are from guests who simply do not appreciate the environment that AQVA have created.

Perfect AQVA... well done and Ciao for now!

Room Tip: Any room on the front... its worth the extra ££

We had high hopes for this hotel, the reviews seemed good, however quite unexpectedly we did not have a good experience. The receptionist was immature and rude, perhaps inexperienced with no one senior to guide her. Our room was not as pictured on the web, dark and in need of a spruce up, dirty marks on walls, filthy windows, black mould in bathroom. Very thin walls, you can hear your neighbours, you can hear them in the bathroom especially. I think this hotel is trying to portray an image on the web that it cannot live up to in reality. Outside areas are good, because if the vantage point to the lake. The hotel is very expensive for what you get. Disappointing unfortunately.

Rude receptionist, unhelpful attitude. Cock up made with booking, receptionist did not do anything to make it better. Shabby dingy rooms, paper thin walls, constant noise above, all noise from bathroom next door clearly heard - not worth the money.

We stayed here for four nights in July, with our two daughters aged 20 and 17, really wanting some R&R, nice food and a pretty view. We actually got a lot more than that. The hotel is really modern and interestingly decorated - terrific ceiling lights, cool furnishings - with really good service and absolutely delicious food. Its in a great spot, right on the lake, with comfortable loungers on a deck by the water, a beautiful view and a really relaxed vibe. Rooms are nothing special but perfectly comfortable and very clean. We wished we'd upgraded to the best rooms, which have big balconies looking straight over the lake. Breakfast is plentiful and top quality. They make nice cocktails in the evening too!

It's a pleasant 10 minute walk into Sirmione centre and one evening we borrowed the hotel bikes to go to eat. The staff were really helpful, recommending and booking us nice restaurants and giving local recommendations for things to do - by that stage in the holiday we were too tired to do the leg work ourselves - and we felt they really bothered making sure we had a good time.

We took a boat out for half a day, which was fun, if a little choppy! We worked out the discounted morning rate is probably because the wind is up that time of day. But it was still worth it. Front of house and on the desk are charming and gave us more good advice about seeing the opera in Verona (really recommend this).

We've stayed in a lot of little hotels like this, but we thought AQVA excelled itself. In fact the whole place ran so smoothly it made us imagine that owning a small hotel must be easy and maybe one day we'll give it a go...

Room Tip: if you can choose the rooms at the front looking over the water.

Sirmione is a VERY popular place to visit with an unique historic center including a castle so expect hoards of people – both tourists and locals – and no free space to park your car unless you’re fortunate to get one of the hotels ten parking slots in front of the hotel or if you arrive very early in the morning to park in one of the public parking spaces (free parking with a ticket from the hotel).

The hotel is ultra chic – a modern super designed villa at the river side of the Garda Lake. We’ve booked a room on the second floor with a view over the lake – absolutely stunning! The room has a sacral feeling to it all painted in white with no décor on the walls. There’s a very trendy table with curved edges in the room (lethal for a glass) and designer lamps. The previous guest had forgotten two smelly cheeses and a half eaten chocolate bar in the fridge – the owner solved the issue promptly and we got a glass of white wine as compensation. We also had to complain about the bed – although comfortable – the bed was moving horizontally when you turned around in bed! Don’t think they managed to solved that problem…

It’s a 9km walk from the hotel to the entrance of the old historic center (the castle) – a little bit rough and sweaty when the temperature is above 30C… There are eateries closer to the hotel e.g. two pizzerias but in the old part you’ll find several nice restaurants like our favorite Osteria Al Torcol – the hotel will help you book a table as it’s a must.

Aqua do serve lunch like salads and sandwiches (approx. 15 Euro each) and smoothies for 6 Euro each – a tad bit expensive.

The breakfast is OK – you’ll get good expresso or cappuccino, boiled eggs (or scrambled eggs but no bacon!), fresh bread, a couple of cheeses and salami, fruit and A LOT of sweet cakes.

We stayed three nights at the hotel and it was quite sufficient for us.

Room Tip: Room number 12 has an excellent view (second floor). Elevator available.
