One of the nicest places I have ever stayed. We had the best time as a family; stunning location, fantastic staff and delicious food. I can't imagine a more lovely view from the bedrooms and starting the day with a swim and breakfast looking out into the lake was incredible.
My wife and I had dinner there today. We each did the 4 course dinner. My wfe did the Tour of Italy and I did the tour of Piemnonte. Simone,our super knowledgeable server, assisted by the lovely Sol from Buenos Aires, recommended a white wine by Coppo Vineyards; Monteriolo. Great dinners with great staff. The Hotel La Palma recommended we try this place on the Fisherman island.
South facing- that's the key.
An amazing place. We were actually staying on the Island for a week at a lovely residence but decided to have a night here too.
We had already eaten here one night.
The staff are extremely professional. The somewhat simple but airy Lakeside room opened onto a lovely wide terrace, where you could soak up the sun whilst enjoying the view- perfect for relaxation & honeymoon.
The breakfast is perhaps the best in Italy!
My only issue was that it seemed that they locked up the Hotel at night & disappeared. When I went down to ask for a drink I was summarily dismissed & it seemed as if the manager didn't want to miss the boat back home!
The bathroom also has a view of the Lake but is in desperate need for some Italian style & flair.
This is one of the best settings I have ever eaten in, with views over the lake towards Isola Bella. It is just perfection. And were were lucky enough to be given a lakeside table (worth requesting if you are booking in advance.)
The service was a bit cloying and trying too hard. the food itself was really mixed. My lamb was good but too oily while my wife's tuna was very good. But my rabbit pasta was the blandest dish I have had this year.
The restaurant is on Pescatori Island. Its iconic. You can arrange to be picked up from the mainland if you are not staying at the hotel.
However, despite COVID 19, the boat driver had his mask off on the way back and was shaking hands with most of the passengers as they disembarked. I emailed the restaurant /hotel to warn them the next morning - five days later, their silence is deafening.
Relaxing lunch with a wonderful view! Perfect spot to admire the landscape right in front of Isola Bella! The service is a little bit slow during the weekend because of the high number of guests. Take your time and book in advance!
