My husband & I have just spent 4 days here. The hotel is beautiful & the staff very helpful & friendly, however there are some aspects which do let it down. We had a junior suite, lake view. The room was a little tired, curtains falling down, light switch broken, Jacuzzi needed a clean as there was mould & dirt in the jets. I have to say that when we spoke to reception they did apologise & make repairs where possible. Also think that housekeeping could do with a bit more attention. Balcony was also interesting............could only get 1 chair on & that was a bit of a squeeze, the other person had to sit in the room!! Considering the price these are things which should not be happening. Having said all that hotel is in a beautiful spot & we did have a lovely time.

I'm not sure which siècle this is supposed to be fin de, but we found it to be well into the 21st century, notwithstanding some of the décor. The Regina Palace is extremely elegant. You would be forgiven for expecting it to be pretentious. But it is not. It is good, solid quality. Good rooms. Good victuals. Good service. Great setting and exquisite views across Lake Maggiore. Inevitably, it has its quirks: the lifts are erratic and inadequate, especially when monopolised by trade show organisers; the loo in our en suite was behind the door, requiring the stature of a Harlem Globetrotter to reach the loo roll (however, the reserve supply was very handy) and the shower door was obstructed by the bidet. None of these things spoiled our enjoyment, of course. The staff include characters and caricatures - but they all smile, and mean it. This is good, all-round solid quality, we slept like logs, and we had a wonderful week there.

Room Tip: It is worth paying a bit extra for a room with a lake view and balcony, though the rear-facing views are fine.

This grand hotel harks back to turn of the last century opulence and style. It basks in its slightly faded glory and provides a formal setting to explore the glories of Lake Maggiore and the lively town of Stresa. The staff are immaculately presented and provide excellent service, coping well with the languages of their many overseas visitors. We only had breakfast as we dined out at the many super restaurants in the town of Stresa itself, but this was itself tasty, varied and well stocked.

The Regina Palace is beautifully maintained and is located in the heart of Stresa on Lake Maggiore. The rooms are furnished with period furniture and our room had a nice balcony. The hotel is less than ten minutes walk to the regional train station and is located on the lake front. There is an outdoor pool and inside grotto pool and spa. Breakfast is beyond expectations.

Room Tip: Lake front is the best, courtyard is quieter.

Just returned from a weeks stay here. Had a room with a view of the lake (411) and a small balcony. Room was very clean and beds very comfortable. We had a beautiful view of the lake. Breakfast at the hotel was outstanding and provided a wide variety of choice. Dinner was also good. The staff in the restaurant were attentive at all times and remembered your particular needs.
The hotel was situated a few minutes from the town within very easy walking distance. If you get the chance, try out the amazing indoor pool.
Will look to return.

Room Tip: Ask for room with a view of the lake preferably on the front
