We had a very underwhelming experience at this hotel. Our main issue was with the horrible / non-existent house-keeping. There was almost no cleaning done in our room. Sheets weren't changed, empty tea cups and saucers weren't picked up, even the floor wasn't cleaned. There was no body lotion in the room. The bed was supposed to be a Queen bed, but was actually 2 twin beds joined together. And was tough and really uncomfortable. The breakfast was very very Average with hardly any choices. There were cobwebs in the room.

The location was superb!

Lovely hotel - great food - professional and friendly service. Some might say dated. I say more art nouveau. This is a traditional hotel with traditional service values. We stayed half board and it was well worth it. The menu had varied options each day where every taste was catered for. Particular praise goes to Raffa who’s photo can be seen on the hotel website and also Alona for making our stay magical - Steve Poole

A bit of a Fawlty Towers feel to this hotel but not in a good way! Caters mainly for tour groups. The dining experience was quite bad tempered and chaotic. We were only allowed to sit at certain tables until the last day when our designated tables had been given to the next tour group and we were unceremoniously moved mid breakfast and had nowhere to sit…. Food very average for Italy and breakfast buffet poor. It seems to be all about getting the numbers through and not the customer.

On the positive - the location is great and the room was exceptionally clean.

If you are travelling independently there are much better hotels in Stresa.
