It was a great experience. It total it was much more then I usually eat during a dinner, but so fresh and delicious, that one can't resist. Maybe the very best place for eating, though it is not a typical restaurant: not for romantic dinner for 2, without music, a bit noisy, because full of locals with children, but a perfect place for those who love Italy, Italians and their cuisine.

A fixed menu for everyone and served almost in sync for the whole restaurant. So you must book (one hour in advance was ok for us) and arrive at 8H00 PM for dinner. During the next 2 hours, we were served 8 different dishes, all original - tasty - regional, and genuine italian, in familly spirit : decoration, service, food style, presentation, and above all: generosity.
The side of Italy and italian people that you can just love.

We dined here on 5 consecutive evenings over Easter as we were staying at their adjacent hotel. As the menu only changes weekly, they adjusted some of the courses so we would have variety, which we really appreciated. The food and service was amazing, every course beautifully cooked and presented, desserts were delicious. We can highly recommend the restaurant and their hotel, where we had equally good service.

Small place in a secluded area, but not far from Orta. The meal was outstanding, with only local ingredients. The evening meal started at a fixed time (8 PM), The service was smooth, since everybody was served the same dish at the same time. The menu was fixed, but there could be small variations, due to some unwanted dishes. The menu changes every week. The only weak point was the wine, which was excellent but served at 25°C at least. It took some time to cool down.
Only open from Thursday through Sunday. Booking ahead is essential. There is a small parking next to the restaurant entrance, but also along the road to get there.

When you sit down you expect a nice home cooked meal at a "farm" restaurant. The menu is fixed and for the three of us they served 2 appetizers, 2 Primi( a pasta and risotto), 2 second I, and dessert. What we got was as beautifully and classically prepared as the best restaurants in Milan. Excellent flavors, elegant presentations. Turns out the chef is the son of the Family owners and is a Culinary graduate. Well done. Do not miss this place. Only open Thursday thru Sunday. Oh yeah, dinner was 29 euros.
