Description: The inn and winehouse S. Martino is situated in the ancient ward of San Martino, that was formerly an harbour of Adige river, and is located 656,17 feet from the famous Buonconsiglio castle. San Martino is contemporary furnished with 30 seats. The peculiarity of this place is the daily seasonal menu with a restrained but tasteful wine list. We use only fresh ingredients and desserts and pasta are all homemade.

On our way to Lago di Garda we stopped in Trient to eat. We saw this place in TripAdvisor and decide to give it a try.
In general the service was quite friendly and the quality very good. The only disappointing thing was the quantity, which was quite small. So if you are hungry you would need to order starter and main dish otherwise you will need a couple of desserts!

This is the very first time I was speechless after the hundreds of positive comments for this place. I am not agree. At all. As reported, the place is far from being cozy. Or clean. Or even acceptable (see: cost per person). It seems like those US highway cheap truckstores, in which tables are generally messy, ingredients are literally tossed here and there. The proprietor works also as chef, waiter, DJ, barman and entertainer - it is OK if you like those grudging granpas from early afternoon movies. Food here is acceptable, quality seems to be good, flavors OK, quantity normal, ingredients far from being exclusive (no truffle, no wagyu, no caviar, etc.), dessert flat normal and house wine cheap: all this clashes a bit with the bill we paid (+35eur/person), which is unacceptable, I mean, considering the preface.
For sure, it will be a one-time experience, at least for me...

We came here for lunch - one of the highly rated restaurants on Trip Advisor by the locals near the Buonconsiglio castle. There is no english menu - but the chef (really shy and adorable) took trouble to find a willing guest from another table to translate the specials and menu to us. I get the sense that they are regulars because she also whispered to us to order the white wine because it is very good. Hand picked by the chef himself. The atmosphere was so relaxed and amusing that we went ahead to order - without questioning the price.
The pasta was very good. Hand made, just the right bite. But what blew us away was the panna cotta and the tiramisu. It was superb! Save some space for desert and coffee!
For two pastas, deserts, wine and espresso for two - the total bill came to 40Euros.

This was our third restaurant meal on a trip to Trento in August. Very laid back place on a quiet side street. There are no menus. The Chef ambles over to your table and explains what is on offer that day. No mention of any prices. The food was good but nothing out of the ordinary. The server was pleasant and attentive. The bill came to 70 Euro for two which I thought was a little expensive for what we had, and compared to our other dining experiences in Trento which were outstanding.

Nice and friendly place. I went to eat there on several occasions and I was never disappointed. It is located in the historic part of Trento town centre near the Buonconsiglio Castle. Excellent food, excellent wine.
