I stayed here with my wife for three nights. The location of the hotel is ideal - on the main Venetian island but at the far end away from the crowds. The area is residential and very quiet and serene with beautiful woods and parkland close by and just a minute's walk or so from the St Elena waterbus stop.

The hotel itself is very pleasant. We were lucky to be put in a room off the garden in the courtyard which has a nice ambiance. The staff at the front desk are very friendly, efficient and helpful.

The room was a decent size and fairly well-appointed with mini-bar, TV, tea/coffee facilities, safe, wardrobe and nice bathroom with a bath and bidet. The bed was also very comfortable and the room was clean and warm.

We only ate breakfast on one day. It was 9 euros which is fine and consists of the usual kind of continental stuff - not too many warm foods (sausage, eggs) but it was a good spread.

Overall, I very much enjoyed staying in the hotel. It warrants its four-star rating and offers a good price for a good standard in an excellent location, within easy reach of St Mark's Square, the Lido and Murano, etc. I'd definitely recommend for a stay in Venice.

Room tip: The garden rooms are very nice.

The rooms were great, nice and clean. Problem being we were there in early November and they had turned their cooling system off for the season. Needless to say, we had to sleep without any blankets or sheets. The room was very HOT.

Dear Ahill77,

thank you for compiling the on-line questionnaire about your stay at Best Western Premier Hotel Sant'Elena.

We are sorry to read that you experienced discomforts with the heating system, even if we hope you can understand that they depend for the most part on the non-standard temperature of the period.

We would like to make you aware that unfortunately the switch to air conditioning system is a programmed intervention, and could not be done at our will, because it requires a few days of preparation.

We hope to have the chance to welcome you again, and we send you our best regards.

Great hotel in an ideal location, just a couple of waterbus stops away from the busiest areas. Food was excellent, breakfast in particular is not to be missed and all staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay. Don't miss this absolute gem
