I am so happy we chose this hotel.
I walked past this hotel 7 years and thought, "wow, one day i'll stay there"!
Located right on the canal, 3 bridges up from the famous "Bridge of sighs".
Within 5 minutes walk are;
St Mark's Square
Doge's Palace.
Campanile.
Approx 20 restaurants (all good value).
The Rialto Bridge is about 25 mins walk.
Our room was 103, which is one floor up but facing right onto the canal. A little lean out and look to the left and there is the Bridge of sighs.
The rooms are small, but beautiful decor. A very small bath but it works, just.
Be aware, there is a Venice city tax of 2 euros per person per night to be applied on departure.
I would return here again and recommend anyone to stay here.

Room Tip: Room 103 is good. Amazing view. Right on the canal.

We have stayed in hotels all over Europe and usually go for the high end expensive rooms. This room was much cheaper than what we would usually pay for a short stay but was one the nicest we have ever had. A beautiful view, friendly staff, very clean and two VERY happy guests!

We stayed at the Hotel Colombina for 3 nights on a couples mini-break. The location for a Venice first-timer cannot be matched - Piazza San Marco is minutes away, the Bridge of Sighs arches over the adjacent canal and a multitude of bars, shops and restaurants are on the doorstep. The decor is a bit tired for a 4-star hotel, but the rooms are clean and a good size and staff are friendly and helpful. An upgrade to a Canal View room is well worth it - we could see the city waking up, boats and gondolas traveling up and down, locals going about their daily business. We could see right down the canal to the Bridge of Sighs and even had a glimpse of the top of the tower in San Marco.
Overall, a really pleasant experience.

Room Tip: Try a Canal View room for a breathtaking view of the Bridge of Sighs.

The 4 of us travelling through Europe felt although the hotel was fantastic, the rooms incredile and the location second to none the service from the front desk staff left a bit to desired. Rooms were clean and very comfortable.

We could speak fluent English German and Dutch so language was not an issue but the attitude was always very off and nonchalant.

No free wi-fi and had to pay and sit in the lounge to use rather than in room.

Expensive for what you get.

We stayed for 2 nights and had a great time with the Hotel being so close to St Marks. Room was not very big but adequate and the bathroom was a good size. Our bathroom drain had a smell which we complained about and it was sorted while we were out so we have no complaints about the service. Our room was in the Annexe building next door and we would have preferred to be in the main building but we were happy enough. The window looked out to an internal square so it was very quiet.
Breakfast was average though there was plenty of food. Location is the best with the Hotel just being far enough away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to many, many restaurants. We would stay here again.
We did not eat at the restaurant as we were out all the time.
