Stayed 6 nights at this hotel in central Venice just a short walk from Plaza San Marco and major tourist attractions. Whilst it is an older hotel, the rooms are large and well appointed including a minibar fridge. There is a bar where you can also get pub-type meals. There is also a restaurant but did not eat there. A highlight of my stay was the staff - perhaps related to this being a family owned and run hotel but I cannot fault the staff and service at all. Within a couple of days, the staff in the front desk and bar had become "friends" and knew my drinks and preferences etc. Breakfast was great and once again, one of the staff knew very quickly what my coffee preference was and with just a nod, she served it immediately after I arrived at my table! Rooms on the street side will be noisy at night because it is a main street so be aware (it did not worry me) and if preferred ask for a room at the back or higher up. Strongly recommend and will stay again if i get the chance.

Room Tip: if you prefer quiet ask for room at the back or higher floors

We stayed here for a week in late July-aug, this hotel is situated in the heart of Venice. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and full of character and our favourite hotel in all of Italy. The staff were amazing and Andrea at reception was always so helpful. The restaurant and bar staff are amazing and friendly, thanks to Fab in the bar for making every night so enjoyable. It's a short stroll to everything and can't wait to be return!!!
Must stay here if your considering Venice!!

Hotel Saturnia & International was the perfect stay for my family of 6. Having visited Venice several times before with my husband and staying at smaller more reasonable hotels, I found booking a quadruple and triple at Hotel Saturnia was pretty economical. The facilities were spacious and clean. The staff was prompt in replying to my questions about getting my family to and from the hotel, quite detailed with the options. The included breakfast buffet was great with options for cappuccino, make-your-own-belgian waffles, scrambled eggs, cold cuts, cheeses, pastries, fresh fruit, cereal and yogurt among our favorites. The rooftop terrace was lovely and surprisingly quiet with the location on a main street (hard to beat). But the water entrance was a huge bonus. Arriving from the airport and departing for the train station with a group was a breeze via water taxi direct to/from the hotel - the rides were memorable with views of Venice from the water!

Very helpful concierge and friendly staff. Good breakfast selection. Very clean though the rooms are showing wear and tear. Location is convenient. Hotel restaurant, La Caravelle, is over- priced and over - rated. Did nothing to replace my spaghetti dish when I told them it was tasteless.

Room Tip: There were no drawers for clothes; just a lot of closet space.

Dear namarib,

we are glad that you appreciated the hotel staff and our rich breakfast. Regarding the rooms, they are characterized, as the whole hotel, by a classical Venetian style and they are renewed annually.
I would like to point out that 'La Caravella' does not charge the cost of the service and the cover to our clients; an amuse-bouche and the bread baked by our chef are usually offered and for the hotel guests 'La Caravella' restaurant offers a special 10% discount.
I am sorry that Spaghetti you ordered did not meet your taste: our chef chooses ‘Gerardo di Nola’ pasta, also served in many Michelin starred restaurants. Regarding the taste of your dish (I reckon it was Spaghetti 'Gerardo di Nola' with spider crab and fresh tomato), chef Raimondo Squeo uses only premium quality ingredients, without any flavour enhancer. Furthermore, spider crab has a very delicate flavour and I am really sorry that you did not appreciate it.
We are here to make our guests happy, and we are sorry it has not happened. It was certainly a misunderstanding; if the dish wasn't to your liking we would have prepared another one without any problem, because our staff is always at disposal to serve our clients better.

Regards
Gianni Serandrei

We stayed for two nights in a junior suite here, and yes, it was very pricey but also an amazing room. Huge room with huge bathroom with both bath and a separate shower area. Overall the interior of the hotel was very nice and the breakfast was good.

No view to speak of, but windows opened to the canal.

The location is really good near the San Marco square, however, not super convenient for transport to an from the airport, but it was worth it.

Only complaint is that the (super huge) bed was a bit on the hard side and that there we like two billion light switches to the place which made it rather time consuming to switch the right lights on/off. The walk in closet was nice where the light came on automatically as you entered the area.

It was exciting to stay in a property with such history, and management/owner attention to detail to maintain its character and degree of quality. The level of service and customer service reflects its 4 star rating. It’s not every day that you are able to gain entrance to a hotel via a speedboat.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the street have a front row view of the premier fashion stores in Europe.

Great location, wonderful hotel, excellent staff, good value. I'd stay there again. Charming decor, fine bar, only three minutes to Piazza San Marco on foot with plenty of shopping in high end stores along the way.

Room Tip: Beds are hard.
