Arrived today and am very happy with this hotel. Rooms are well decorated and baths are small but well appointed. Can't beat the location: close to the Academia bridge and Piazza San Marco. At least four nice restaurant choices right outside the door. Highly recommend.

Beautiful, old hotel in the heart of Venice. The rooms are small, but very nice in venetian, old style. Small, but godd breakfast, just enough to keep you going til lunch. You can have your breakfast outside when the weather is fine. Good value for the money. I would like to com back some time.

The wife and I were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived and checked in. It is very smal and very old fashioned, reminded me of how rooms may have looked years and years ago. The decorations both outrageous and amazing. If there is such a thing as an "italian" feel this place had it. Seems to be family run, there was a very eccentric (in a good way) man who worked the front desk 99% of the week we were there who seemed very serious about his job and cared about the overall well being of the property. Continental breakfast was included, the views from our 3rd floor room were overlooking the square there, and it was literally in the middle of everything we wanted to do while in Venice. I would highly reccomend to anyone who likes travelling for bang for thier buck, and also arent so posh and need all these amenities, as it was very rustic and quaint. Did have wifi but not much else. But on vacation, what do you really need? Nice escape from regular life and being able to just be in moment... very romantic!! I enjoyed the hotel thoroughly!!

Room Tip: rooms above the frotn desk look out into the square... not sure what the back rooms offer view wise

I escaped the oppression of a "5-star" hotel on the Grand Canal and landed in a lovely, cozy room atop this beautiful, unique & classic building. My room overlooked Campo San Stefano and the near-by bell towers. I kept "time" by the ringing of the bells ~ although Venice was to me a place that was outside time and a postponement of reality. Leaving my tall windows slightly ajar and the wooden shutters half-closed, I was able to witness the nightly thunderstorms and lightening from the comfort of my satin covered bed. Some nights I borrowed a big umbrella from our host and took long walks in the pouring rain. I love Venetian plaster finishes on walls and was treated to an exquisitely crafted bath that also had mosaics worthy of the Doge's Palace! Our host, Marcello, became a confidante and friend almost immediately. I felt like he actually was looking out for me while I was in his care! It turned out our birthdays were a couple of days apart. We used Google translation if we couldn't get out point across and had many laughs during my 8-days of relaxation and exploration of the magical city of Venice. I will return to this hotel again and again as I now call it "home" away from home. The price was incredibly affordable in my mind - as the 5-star hotel wanted 8x as much for a room/per night w/half of the charm, views and warmth. See you soon, Marcello! xo Paula

Room Tip: I liked the rooms on the side of the Campo - as high as possible. It doesn't matter if your bath is across the hall, it is private.

The hotel was nicely decorated. It was clean. However, it is run by a man who spoke broken English. Also, in order to save money, air con was not on and light in the lobby was not on most of the time. Hence, you feel you are going into a ghost house every time you walk through the lobby.
Breakfast was basic.
Room is definitely clean!
wifi is good
