“Great service, lovely little touches all round.”
Reviewed 6 March 2012

The hotel staff were really welcoming on arrival and had upgraded us to a better room without asking (ok, it's low season but it's nice to see that they could offer this at no extra cost during this quiet time). The porter was very friendly and even gave us a tour of the room, instructing us on how to operate the jacuzzi and various appliances around the room. The bed was huge too. Lovely little touches included turning our bed down for the evening, placing chocolates on the pillows, shutting the outside shutters just before bedtime and even taking the time to write down the following day's weather forecast on a card, which was placed on the bed. The room was cleaned well each day. Some reviews here say the breakfast is not up to scratch, but I really do think the hotel has taken these comments on board and improved this. There was a wide variety of options and we were really pleased with the choice. Amazing location too - the hotel has its own water taxi pick up and the aligunabus stop is right outside the hotel too. About a 10 minute walk to the Rialto bridge through the back streets - all in all a great hotel to stay at, fully fully recommend!

We went there for a romantic treat. The hotel is ideally situated on the Grand Canal, which allowed us to visit all important places in 15 minutes (boat stop just outside the hotel) and go back to the room when needed.
The room is nicely decorated and comfi. the bathroom was quite big.
We had a nice view on the Grand Canal. There was some noise made by the boats but you can't ask a grand canal view and have a perfectly silent room ! But our neighbours complained about this. I was amazed by the view from our room.
Breakfast was continental and average. It could be better from this high class hotel.

Stayed here for my birthday and what a treat it was. Amazing view over the grande canal, beautiful decorated room and lovely bathroom. Breakfast was avg but usual for Europe. Location is perfect, boat stop right outside and down the alley is the main pedestrian shopping street. Not cheap but highly recommend a stay here.

This is a high class establishment and one expects the service to correspond. It does. We had booked a 'superior' room and were not disappointed. The advantage of this hotel is its location - on the boat stop from the airport - therefore no lugging of luggage. Quiet and quite small therefore personal.
Not the most economical place to stay in Venice, but for a special occasion (as ours was) it is excellent value.
Would we return or recommend? Yes.

Room Tip: Try one overlooking the Grand Canal but be prepared to pay a premium.

I stayed here in November last year with my boyfriend for three nights and was thoroughly impressed from the moment we arrived until check out.

As other members have mentioned, the view from the junior suite is unbeatable. Waking up every morning to the Grand Canal right outside our balcony was simply bliss.

The staff were very helpful when we wanted to book restaurants and organize a visit to a glass maker in Venice. And they quickly attended to our requests of a wine cooler, champagne glasses and extra coat hangers upon arrival.

My only complaint would be that the shower faucet was a little weak (I prefer a stronger water pressure) and the lack of floor heating in the bathroom meant the floor was a little chilly without slippers. However, this is such a minor issue and didn't impact on the very enjoyable stay. Would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Junior suite has the best view

We chose this hotel partly from reading Tripadvisor reviews, and it lived up to our expectations. The location is probably unbeatable. To emerge from the hotel each morning to the heart-stopping beauty of the Grand Canal is an extraordinarily joyous experience: and, to be practical, it's a bonus that the vaporetto stop is only a few metres away. Our room was spacious and quiet, with the large marble bathroom and jacuzzi admired by other reviewers. It was all immaculately clean, and the maid service was irreproachable - unobtrusive and efficient. We too loved the front desk staff, helpful and friendly at all times. Breakfast we found pretty good by the standards of Italian hotels (where breakfast is often a perfunctory affair of bread, jam and coffee in pretty small quantities): this offered fair coffee and good espresso; lots of nice croissants and rolls; a reasonable if repetitive 'international breakfast' of scrambled egg, bacon and sausage.

A lovely hotel on the Grand Canal. Everything you would want. Not inexpensive, but then nothing is, in Venice. We splurged on a junior suite over looking the canal. Everything red and gold and dreamy. The included breakfast includes coffee and fruit and croissants and eggs and much more. Everything you need to get you to the Guggenheim. The service is first rate. Beautiful and well located.

Room Tip: Splurge and look out onto the Grand Canal.
