We stayed here for 2 nights and loved it! The staff were lovely and the room was clean and comfortable. The location is slightly tucked away so it is nice and quiet consider the popularity of San Marco. We would stay here again!

Perfect location in Venice - great proximity to everything. We arrived by water bus from the airport which was easy to San Marco stop, but chose the water taxi to the train station which was a well spent 80eur for an interesting perspective and much easier than the crowded water bus to the train.

The hotel room (307) was a great size and the balcony to look out onto the canal was lovely, as others have mentioned it is nice to be able to listen to the gondoliers and take in the ambience. The room was very pleasant to relax in and rest. It is clearly an older hotel but the style is beautiful in the rooms and the chandeliers.

Staff were great and helpful, we didn’t do breakfast and opted to go down the street for a croissant and coffee - it is a great location to find restaurants and cafes!

Would recommend this hotel

Duodo Palace hotel is nicely situated inside the center of San Marco. We were quite lost when we first came down from the water bus in San Marco to find this hotel, which is very common we later found out. Venice is a city surrounded by water, there are no cars, bus or bike in this place. You will have to walk around in a comfortable shoes. There are many small bridges, so I would highly recommend not to bring a big or heavy suitcases. Many steps to climb up and down. People here use water boat as transportation to get to other islands. Rooms were quite small, which is pretty normal in Europe. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which was excellent for the quality of the food. Hotel is about 10 min walk from St Mark's Square. There are many small streets so you will be lost, but then you get to see shops and restaurants and charmning little river with Gondola boats.

We stayed at the Duodo Palace Hotel for an extended 5-night city break. 10 minutes very gentle stroll from St Mark's Square, and the many vaporetto stops along the waterfront makes this hotel an ideal base for exploring.
I see other reviews complaining about small room sizes, but ours was more than adequate (room 402). In any event, one has to remember the age of the buildings, one of the appealing factors about Venice, when booking hotels here. These buildings are for the most part not purpose built as hotels.
I would recommend taking both southern and northern European mains adapters as sockets in our room took one or the other. Also, I see other reviews complaining about mosquito bites at night - simple solution - close the window and turn the aircon on.
The hotel secured wi-fi is really good, great for making your friends jealous by posting pics on FB. :)
I found the staff helpful and efficient, and my only small complaint is that the rooms are a tad expensive, but that's probably just supply and demand capitalism at work!

Room Tip: South facing room on top (4th) floor for best view

Duodo Palace Hotel is very well situated in the centre of San Marco. All major sightseeing spots can be reached within walking distance. On the other hand, it is situated in a very calm dead-end way.
Our room was clean, not very big but space enough and a good bathroom with a bathtub.
Breakfast was nice with everything necessary available for a good start into the day.
The hotel staff was very friendly and service was perfect.
I can really recommend the hotel for a Venice city trip.
Got the best price I could find by booking direktly on the hotel web page!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with view on the canal
