This hotel is a restored sugar mill and is gorgeous and historic. The staff is amazing. It is located in the Grand Canal across the canal from the main square. There is a free water shuttle that takes you back and forth every few minutes. Truly an amazing experience.

Highly recommended. Best hotel in Venice and most outstanding Hilton luxury property worldwide with super food and views.

This is truly an amazing hotel on all counts - the best staff, beautiful property, food quality, super Hilton Honours benefits and great location.

The staff is what makes this a super hotel, akin to a 7* star. While it’s a large hotel, it also feels like a home due to the personalisation of service and attention to detail that staff provide their guests. For the staff, it’s more than a just a job, it’s a passion to exceed expectations. I can understand why. First, its observable that someone senior like the General Manager has set the right tone at the top and this has filtered down to staff in the organisation. Second, The staff are called “team members” (see pic) and respected and valued by management. Having visited this property annually over the last 6 years, I observe that staff turnover is extremely low. A few, but not enough examples, of excellent service:

Giuseppe at F&B ensured that there were decent vegetarian options in the executive lounge. He, Abdel and Renato always went out of their way to exceed expectations and I owe them a big thank you, and the same for Irene at breakfast.

Gabriele at reservations ensured everything was smooth from booking to transition during stay and a big thanks to her and Constance and the Reservations team.

Nicole and Eliza at guest relations were highly professional and effective, and made the stay a pleasure.

Riccardo at housekeeping ensured that all was super from his end.

A big thank you to everyone.

The property is a large and beautiful historic building. The hotel feels spacious, not claustrophobic like even the Danieli in Venice feels (the Hilton is a much better hotel on most counts and I switched after experiencing Hilton). When you enter the hotel, you smell a good aroma and the ambience is very calm - small point, but every little counts. I suggest getting a room with a view of the lagoon, which offer beautiful views.

Property is located in a quiet corner, allowing you to escape the hustle and bustle of San Marco- you get the best of both worlds. Hotel runs frequent shuttles to San Marco, so main spots are super easy to get to.

The food and beverages standard is outstanding. Very good breakfast above Hilton standards. Small example is the fresh orange juice made in front of you, unlike in many other Hiltons. Chef in Rialto bar restaurant serves amazing dishes - one can taste the fresh ingredients. Barcomi for delicious Venetian cuisine. Vegetarians - I suggest you speak to the staff and the restaurants will improvise.

Hospitality towards Hilton Honours gold and diamond members is second to none. For example, they provide access to the executive lounge and take special note during your stay. Free access to lovely spa (the hotel took previous feedback on board not to charge HH good and diamond members- demonstrates they listen).

Areas for improvement- mostly minor points and overshadowed by positives. vegetarian options in executive lounge are limited, but staff make it right if you ask. Second, perhaps serving spirits in lounge would be good.

All in all, a great hotel and highly recommended.

This is the perfect hotel from start to finish. From the time you arrive you are welcomed by eager to help staff. If you are a Hilton Honors member this is the best place to use your points. We were here during Christmas and it was the most beautiful setting. Don;t worry about getting to St. Marks Square. The Hilton shuttle is very convenient and it makes it a nice ride everyday. I would like to give a big shout out to Victoria in the breakfast room. She made our day with her wonderful, warm smile every morning.
Thank you! We will return again some day.

Room tip: If you are a Diamond member ask to upgrade to a suite with water view

Hilton Molino Stucky Venice – Made in Venice, Italy

Venice is a magic city, enticing admirers to appreciate its everlasting charm for centuries. We are one of them. Every time we come to this magic land, we would ask each other where to stay to enhance our experience. There are hundreds of hotels scatted throughout the islands of Venice, most of them are concentrated around San Marco and Rialto Bridge area. As an experienced Venice admirer, I have stayed at many different tourist hotels near the main attractions. While these hotels are satisfying guests’ needs, the experience left me is always feeling as being a tourist. Yes we after all are tourists, but if there are little something more that you could have within your reach, to add a little magic touch for your “tourist” experience, would you want it?

We finally found it!

We were in Venice again in January the 18th 2019 for our No. Xth pilgrimage. This time we found our missing link, we chose to stay at Hilton Molino Stucky Venice for the first time. We have never seen Venice like we did before.

History
The build used to be the largest and the most beautiful flour mill in Europe. In its hay days, the mill had more than 1,500 full time employees working around the clock. The building then was dilapidated and abandoned for more than 50 years. It is a large compound, consists a number of adjacent buildings which have been all restored to its former glory. You may find the Molino Stucky building’s history and transformation pictures illustrated on the wall of the main restaurant.

Location and access
Initially we were a bit concerned about the hotel location as it is situated in the main island where San Marco Square and Rialto Bridge are. Hilton is located in a separate island in a residential area. However, you should not be deferred by the location description inked in the paper.

It is very easy to reach. We arrived at the St Lucia train station and caught water bus No 2 (you can also use No 4.1) and 25 minutes, 7.5 Euro later, you are in Palanca, where Hilton is located. These two water buses continue the services onto San Marco Square. A short flat work, well, there are two sets of Venice bridges to climb, you are in the front of Hilton.

Sightseeing
This is what most tourists concerned. How do I get from this “Hilton Island” to San Marco Square? Hilton has its own private boats for guests going from the hotel to San Maco, between 8am and midnight. These are large and comfortable boats, running every 40 minute interval. In the evening, the boat also stops in Zattera, a nearby suburb on its way to San Marco. Of course Hilton has its own private wharf. We used many times during our stay, we have never found the boats crowded, perhaps it was in the winter. There is also an alternative, you can always walk to Palanca, the water bus station where you get off from the train station to Hilton, to use the public water bus No. 2 and No. 4.1 to San Marco.

The Hotel charges 7.5 Euro per guest during your entire stay for the convenience. The boat trip from the Hilton to San Marco is quite an experience on its own.
Not to mention, there is ticket machine in the hotel lobby where you can buy tickets to the airport, Murano and other destinations. These transfers operate every 30 minutes and come direct from the hotel wharf. For instance, we bought a ticket from the Hilton to Murano for a day out for 18 Euro return. No need to join a day tour.

Rooms
As a Hilton Diamond member, the room was upgraded to a full canal view room at the 5th floor. It is big, well maintained and of course, lightings are all decorated by Venetian glasses. Because it is a large hotel, with more than 300 rooms, many rooms are facing the inner courtyard. I think it is worth upgrading yourself to a canal view room. Believe me, you would not want to leave with that view.

Food and Services
We dined at the hotel restaurant for breakfast. It was extensive, all ingredients are sourced locally and around the country. The Italians certainly take pride on things that are Made in Italy. The breakfast is a western and Italian affair. They also have a Chinese corner, I have to say, being a Chinese myself, food items in that corner have a long way to go however I do appreciate their effort.

Services provided in Hilton are meticulous, professional and, well and true superior Italian hospitality, right from the check in experience to the restaurant staff service.
We also had access to the executive lounge. Some reviewers were dismayed on the location and size of the lounge. On contrary, we found the location and size of the lounge are decent. The only suggestion for further improvement is the food items provided for the evening cocktail time. There was one hot item and one cold item each evening, which were quite unappetising. On the other hand, the Venetian wines are absolutely delicious. During the day, there are some sandwiches and light snacks available in the lounge.

Facilities
The hotel rooftop pool with spectacular view of Venice was closed in winter during our visit. There is a fully functional gym, its equipment is unusually scatted in a number of small rooms due to the building structural design. Hilton diamond members are entitled to a complimentary 2 hour spa and steam room session. Otherwise it is a chargeable service. It is quite common that the Europeans often make this kind of service chargeable while elsewhere is a standard free amenity.

We fully immersed ourselves during this trip, partly because we stayed at Hilton Venice. Being at a residential district, it allows you to see how everyday local venetians live. There are a number less touristy traditional Venetian restaurants along the canal bank outside the hotel, it is quiet and calm yet it is just minutes from the action centre.

A full credit to Hilton for history conservation and preservation, despite the commercial interests, it is a master piece of living history for you to enjoy.

Room tip: A canal facing room a must
