La Bricola is a little hard to find the first time but what a location. It is 100m or less from St Marco's Square and right in the hub of the pedestrian/food district of Venice. It is also very close to the water ferry terminal (St Marco) as well as the ferry direct to the airport. The hotel is brand new and the quality of the rooms, bathrooms and furniture were excellent. The rooms were small but very well appointed, even with a flat screen TV. A/C was in perfect working order.
Breakfast was excellent offering croissants, bread, beautiful ham, procuitto and cheese, yoghurt, cereal, juice and proper Cappucino/Latte/American/Expresso coffee.
The reception was barely manned however they have a restaurant underneath at ground level. So the help buzzer went through to them as they forgot to mention the swipe access and to take it with you (as you get a key too). It is automated security with swipe card access and the hotel is small. There is little English so a late check out was difficult to organise but managed in the end.
Overall we were very impressed and paid 80 euro a night.More
