This is not a hotel if you are looking at an authentic or historic journey (it was built 60 years ago) but it had clean large rooms with a great downtown location. No need to drive to see all around as everything is a short walk. There are tons of good, inexpensive, resturants nearby. This city has a vibrant downtown at night so leave your window open and soak up the gaiety as you drift off to sleep.

The Palace Hotel is in a great situation, 5 minutes easy walk from the Old Town, similar to shops and a 15 minutes walk from the main train station. Our room was large and beds very comfortable. The front desk staff are very friendly, helpful, and (useful for us) speak good English. The hotel bar is a great place to while away an hour over a cocktail or two.
Others have praised the breakfast; while we found it OK and enough choice, the coffee on general offer was not good, and ran out frequently, leaving guests to hang around waiting for the staff, who didn't seem to be very bothered about it.

this hotel was in a great location , near the train station and on the border of the main tourist sights , very clean , had friendly staff ,we only stayed one night but it was a good hotel . we were not able to take advantage of the free breakfast as we had to leave early.
cons - the evening staff told us that there would be no problem getting coffee in the am , they said the front desk could easily do that for us , but in the morning it was made clear that was not an option.

Central and convenient, this hotel is on doorstep of main shopping area and many good restaurants. We first stayed in the Palace Hotel eight yrs ago, hotel was memorable then, sadly now it does need some TLC, rooms comfortable, nice clean beds, changed daily with nice crisp linen. .. although rooms definitely in need of upgrading, they were cleaned well so no complaints re cleaning staff, breakfast is included and there is a good selection, ( hot & cold buffet style, ) no need to go hungry. The Murat restaurant was also as good as we remember and deinately worth a try. All staff were friendly & helpful. .... would I stay again, yes, but hopefully rooms would be refurbished by then.

Room tip: We stayed on 7th floor with balcony, above hotel entrance in side street, very sunny balcony and noise free.

Dear Margaret it will be a pleasure for us to host you in your next stay with us in a new refurbished and upgarded room. We have already qualified many of them but so much work is needed in the future days. So, we are very glad that your review is very positive and we hope you will come back as soon as possible in order to prove the kindness and the elegance of all our renewed rooms. Best regards!

We booked this hotel Online, and were shown pictures that could not even describe the room we were given. Dirty walls, tired furniture, quite deceptive. We went down to the front desk and were given an upgrade after complaining, at an additional 30 euros. The lobby is worn as well. There appear to be several better options in town for lodging, and I would clearly stay clear of this place.

Dear Guest, thanks for reviewing the Palace Hotel and fot the chance you give me to answer your description. At the moment the only meaning connectable to the verb 'to crumble' at the PAlace Hotel is that referring to a "a sweet dish made from fruit covered in a mixture of flour, butter, and sugar rubbed together into small pieces, baked, and eaten hot"... a real goodness! The Palace Hotel is coming to be, day by day, a very good "sweet dish" in which all the ingredients - new qualified rooms, rooms going to be qualified with new parquet floor ( you were assigned a new restructured room on our 5th floor), great care in cleaning, great care in choosing all the particulars in the rooms, our professional staff, our wonderful breakfast, our magnificent lobby- are mixed to create a unique experience. Maybe you did'nt like the style of our hotel but that is only a question of taste. Best regards.
